The UN must open the Strait of Hormuz for us - Rubio 🙄 Having completely failed in their war against Iran, the US now appeals to the UN to come clean up the mess. "What is the purpose of the UN?! The UN was supposed to be a place where you could peacefully resolve global conflict. We are taking it to the UN” ☝ Of course, the US condemned the UN for years, because the UN wanted to peacefully resolve conflicts, and objected to American and Israeli wars. The US must be in dire straits (pun intended) if they now beg the UN for help. Remember: the Strait of Hormuz was open start of 2026. Iran said that they would close it in case they get attacked. Then the US attacked anyway, and the rest is history...
Amerika und Israel sind für dieses Problem verantwortlich und sollten es daher auch lösen! Außerdem sollte die EU sie für die wirtschaftlichen Folgeschäden verantwortlich machen!
The US shameless hypocrisy is approaching that of russia's.
What kind of world do we want to live in? One where "might makes right"; or one where mutual respect and dignity, diplomacy & the rule of law prevail? The latter was the intent and promise of the UN. The problem we've always had, however, is that the most powerful nations refuse to recognize and participate in the mechanisms of the rule of law (UN; ICC) except when it suits them. For the past year, the U.S. has been threatening allies, invading other countries, kidnapping their leaders, indiscriminately bombing boats in waters that are not theirs, and killing innocent children and school teachers with bomb strikes. Not to mention funding and supporting a genocide in Gaza. All of it...ALL OF IT...a crystal clear "F-You" to the rules of international law & order. The U.S. seeking UN help at this time is laughable.
I believe the United Nations is also receiving complaints of commercial fishing boats being blown up in the Caribbean Sea.
Iran dumped the hazards in international waters and now claims that they can't locate them. That's not the fault of the US. So it may seem hypocritical to ask the UN for help, but not every aspect of the problem can be placed at America's doorstep. And wouldn't it be a nice change for the country that has contributed the most financially to the UN, to finally get some crumbs back? I'd say they've more than earned it, even if they are in arrears at the moment. The US always gets milked for the benefit of others. I think it''s time for them to receive some value back.
History yes, but a lesson too. Here acting in haste has led to regret at leisure. No escape from the consequences of ill considered transactional mistakes? Blame the UN. All those irrational vetos cast in the Security Council for years now may come home to roost. Dire staits. Still enabling Isreali Defence forces to attack hardly helps get the oil flowing again. It's baking your very own crisis and suddenly realising you have to eat it.
The U.S. has never requested help in Iran. Nor do they ever want to be seen to beg. There is always a self-righteous expectation and demand. It just makes you want to FRUSTRATE him, doesn’t it?
Are America and Israel not responsible and accountable for this problem and should therefore solve it ? Decisions weren't based on an imminent threat at all, but rather on a long-standing desire for regime change. America must have both undertaken yearly war gaming, planned and authorized this months in advance proving it was a calculated strategic strike rather than a reactive move to stop an immediate, unfolding attack. I struggle to understand how the US ignored the impact of Iran contolling the Straight of Hormuz and damaging the regions oil infrastructure. It must have been considered in the war gaming.
