Why I chose WebAssembly Components for AgentML When I started designing AgentML, I wanted agents to run anywhere without being rewritten for each environment. That led me to WebAssembly Components. They give each agent a clear boundary and a predictable way to communicate with others, regardless of language or platform. It means an agent written in Rust can talk to one in Go or TypeScript. It can run safely in a browser, on the edge, or inside a host runtime, all from the same definition. For AgentML, this creates consistency and determinism without locking into a single stack. It feels like the foundation of how modular software should work. If you are building systems meant to outlast frameworks, WebAssembly Components are worth exploring.

A lot of software developers I interact with seem to view tests as an add-on, a mere decoration to their beautifully written code. There was a time (not that long ago) when no one wrote any tests, and now that more and more companies are starting to expect teams to have tests (and test coverage), many programmers begrudgingly give in and agree to write some half-assed tests. But that's just a waste of time. Monkey see, monkey do is never a good approach. Either focus on writing really good, quality tests, or don't bother with tests at all. There is no middle ground.

I recently started using Claude Sonnet 4.5, which Anthropic just released with an impressive 77.2% accuracy on the software engineering benchmark, making it one of the highest-performing coding models available. And, using that, I was building a product dashboard for a frontend app, and I gave Claude the requirements and, within minutes, had working code in my editor. It compiled. The dashboard rendered. By every objective measure, this was a success. But when I looked at it from a different perspective, there was something off. The issue was generalization. The model knew how to code, but not how to design for context. General-purpose agents are trained to do everything, which often means they do everything just well enough. They can produce functional React components, wire APIs, and pass tests, but they don’t understand the conventions, patterns, and trade-offs that make frontend code scalable and maintainable. New Claude Code trick: When it proposes multiple options / solutions for something related to the frontend, ask it to create a new page (let's say /test) where you can visualise the different options. Example in my screenshot Then pick the one you like the most and start iterating. Might make sense to even work within a new branch or worktree.
