When I was working in HR, I'd see hiring managers walk out of interviews and stop at my desk. I'd ask, "How'd it go?" And one of the more common compliments I would hear was: "He asked such great questions" And they would go on and on about how well the conversation was flowing. Notice what the interviewer didn't say? It wasn't about how perfectly the candidate answered the interview questions. It was about the questions they asked. Those are the candidates that stood out. Of course, your answers matter too. But let's not forget how much it shows your critical thinking about the BUSINESS to ask good questions (whereas your interview answers are often about your past experience). Interviewers love great questions because that's when you start to feel like a coworker. P.S. If you need help on how to stand out in your interviews, I created a free Unshakeable Interviews Masterclass that dives deep into the strategies that are actually working. I will link it in the comments below!
Love this. Your answers get you in the room. Your questions make them remember you. Madeline, what's one question you always ask?
Real question: When a person asks about training, does that come off as you not being skilled in the position? Is the wording wrong? Thank you.
Hi Madeline I applied for graduate program so do you suggest to talk to someone to view my applicant from the company to get interview?
