Every EdTech founder has a “why didn't this exist?” moment. Ours happened during a late-night Moodle tinkering in 2020. A client - a mid-sized university - had just moved all their exams online overnight. COVID had given them no choice. They were using Moodle, which they'd invested years into. And they needed proctoring. What followed was three weeks of trying to bolt third-party tools onto their Moodle setup. None of them fit cleanly. Some required students to download separate apps. Others pushed data to servers the institutions had no visibility into. A few just…broke under load. The IT team was exhausted. The faculty didn't trust the results. And students, already stressed, were dealing with technical failures mid-exam. The proctoring tools existed. But they weren't built for Moodle. They were built for their own ecosystems, and Moodle was an afterthought. That night, I opened a doc and started writing what a Moodle-native proctoring plugin should actually look like. Not a workaround. Not an integration. Something that lived inside Moodle the way a quiz module does, familiar to admins, invisible to students, and reliable under pressure. That doc sat with us through 2020. In 2021, we started building it properly. In 2023, ProctorLink was launched at Moodle Moot, and the response told us we'd been right to wait until it was ready. Today, 200+ institutions across multiple countries run exams on it, from universities to professional certification bodies. Over a million exam sessions were processed. The plugin has grown significantly, but the principle hasn’t changed: if your institution runs on Moodle, your proctoring should like it does too. We're still a small team. We still obsess over the Moodle experience specifically - not every LMS, not a generic solution. Just Moodle. Done properly. If you're a Moodle admin or an institution exploring online proctoring, I’d genuinely like to hear what your current setup looks like: what's working, what isn't. And if you want to try ProctorLink (https://proctorlink.com), there's a free plan. No sales call required. #Moodle #EdTech #OnlineExams #AcademicIntegrity #ProctorLink #eLearning

𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 ‘𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬.' How many online courses have you bought that are still sitting there, untouched… like digital guilt on your credit card statement? The problem usually isn’t you. It’s that the course is confusing, overwhelming, or badly structured. That’s why I built 365 Learning Hub like a real classroom for busy adults: ➡️ Clear modules ➡️ Short, bite-sized lessons ➡️ Practical examples you can apply the same day I recorded a quick behind-the-scenes tour so you can see exactly how it works before you ever join. #LearnMicrosoft365

Some very helpful additions to the website of SUNEDU ID, one of Moodle's Indonesian partners. If you want to see how much money you can save by having an LMS simply adjust the sliders at https://lnkd.in/ejGZ4uui. And if you want to better understand the risks of using a non-certified partner V's a Moodle certified partner, adjust the sliders again at https://lnkd.in/ejGZ4uui. #Moodle #edtech

The contract is signed, the site is live, and for a brief moment, it feels like the hard part is done. Then, somewhere in a meeting that has already run ten minutes over, someone who has not touched Moodle at all asks, “So when will the first course be ready?” Everyone looks around, desperately avoiding making eye contact. Because Moodle is sitting there, fully functional and quite overwhelming. Menus open into more menus. Settings lead somewhere else. It’s clear the system can do quite a lot. It’s less clear what should be done first, or who should be doing it. So the team leans into what feels like the sensible next step. They try to understand everything. Roles are discussed. Permissions come up. Competencies make an appearance. Badges follow, and then certificates, along with a brief but detailed conversation about logos and signatures that feels important at the time. A few weeks pass. Still, nothing has launched. This is a very familiar stage. Moodle gives you access to everything upfront, and most teams respond by trying to map the whole system before using it. The teams that move ahead faster tend to take a different approach. They choose one course they already understand and build it, not as a final product, but as something that works. A structure that makes sense, with a few activities that require learners to do something, and completion tracking switched on. Then, finally, a small group is enrolled, and someone runs a report. At that point, the system becomes easier to understand because it’s no longer theoretical. It’s a small movement, but it tends to unlock the momentum needed for building confidence and strategy moving forwards. This week’s article looks more closely at that early stage, why most teams stall there, and how progress usually comes from building something simple that holds together, and then refining it over time.
