I was coaching one of my team members recently and encouraged them to really lean into what makes them unique. We talked about: • Their professional and academic background • What they’re genuinely passionate about • Their core values • Their personality traits • Their unique skills It reminded me of a podcast conversation I had with Patricia Droguette, where she said something that’s really stuck with me: “It’s about what makes you memorable.” And she’s right. You can’t be memorable if you’re trying to sound, act, or show up like everyone else. Whether you’re a recruiter, a candidate, or a leader, your edge isn’t found in copying what already exists. It’s found in owning your story, your perspective, and the value only you can bring. That’s what people remember. #personalbrand #careeradvice #recruitment #leadership #authenticity #ucentric

The path to success is rarely a straight line. Kevin Lewis proved that. He started in journalism and ended up building a career in organizational consulting. Different industries. Different skills. Same thread: understanding people. On this week's Unstoppable Success Podcast, Kevin shares why authentic leadership — real vulnerability, real honesty — is what actually strengthens teams. Not the performance of strength. The practice of it. He also reminded me of something I believe deeply: everyone is a leader in some capacity. Whether you manage a team of 50 or you're leading yourself through a career pivot, developing those leadership skills isn't optional. It's the foundation. If you're in the middle of reinventing yourself — or even just wondering if it's time — this conversation will meet you exactly where you are. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gzSZpMBX And if Kevin's story resonates with you, Thursday's episode with Andrew Brümmer on AI, Authenticity, and Networking is going to take it even further. What's the most unconventional path you've taken in your career? I'd love to hear. #UnstoppableSuccess #PodcastEpisode #AuthenticLeadership #CareerReinvention #LeadershipDevelopment #LeadWithGrace

When leaders focus on helping others win, everything compounds. Make it about their success first and your success will follow.
If it’s always about what you want, people feel that. And they’ll start protecting their own interests instead of building the mission. The shift happens when you start helping people get what they want… that’s when real leadership shows up. 🎙️ I recently had the pleasure of recording a conversation with Tom Hitchcock - ǝןdɹnꓒ ɹW for his podcast – an enjoyable and wide-ranging discussion about careers, leadership and how organisations actually work. Tom hosts thoughtful conversations about leadership, creativity and learning, so we explored a wide-ranging mix of ideas: career zigzags, how people really get on at work, and the informal dynamics that shape influence inside organisations. One theme we kept returning to was this: Workplaces don’t run purely on performance – they run on relationships, perception and informal influence. Understanding those dynamics can make navigating work – and leadership – a lot clearer. Thanks Tom for such an engaging conversation. 📣 Stay tuned — the episode will be published soon! 📻 #leadership #careers #organisations #investinyourself

Is leadership closer to strategic analysis… or to conducting an orchestra? In the latest episode of The Optimal Leadership Podcast, I sat down with Professor Maury Peiperl to explore that question, and a bigger one: How do we lead through complexity in today’s world? Maury shared a turning point in his career. After years in strategy consulting, he realised the greatest organisational challenges were not about sharper analysis. They were about: Purpose. Impact. Culture. Execution. As one firm he worked with famously put it: Strategy is what happens, not what is planned to happen. We also explored Maury’s idea of “musical thinking” in leadership, the belief that leading is less about issuing instructions and more about hearing what others cannot. He was intrigued by the cover of Optimal Leadership, a leader standing before an orchestra. That artwork was intentional. I have long believed that a CEO is closer to a conductor than a commander. The conductor makes no sound. Yet the performance depends entirely on their clarity, balance, and timing. Leadership, at its best, is about aligning diverse talent toward shared purpose, not dominating the stage. If you’re interested in how theory stands up against lived executive experience, this conversation may resonate. 🎙 Listen to the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/efj2nqP2 📺 WATCH the full episode on Youtube: https://lnkd.in/eByBrHRd #OptimalLeadership #SerialCEO #LeadershipDevelopment #LeadWithPurpose #ExecutiveLeadership

With a doctorate in psychology and thousands of interviews with global leaders under his belt, Rod brings a rare lens to leadership, one rooted in the belief that storytelling isn’t fluff, it’s fuel. From his book “The Narrative Edge” to his conversations with executives and veterans, Rod shares how narrative shapes identity, unlocks empathy, and fosters true connection inside our organizations. The trio dives deep into how story helps us meet the moment, why leaders must understand their own role in the plotline, and how authentic storytelling builds stronger cultures, especially in a digital-first world. “I’ve always been told I’m a nice person. Is that good or bad for my career?” Someone asked me this recently — and it made me pause 🤔 The distinction really clicked for me after listening to the Coaching for Leaders podcast, where Dave Stachowiak speaks with Graham Allcott: ✅ Nice is telling people what they want to hear. ✅ Kind is telling them what they need to hear. In fast‑moving environments — technology, energy, large‑scale transformation — real kindness isn’t about being soft. It’s about being honest, clear, and consistent. Especially when it’s uncomfortable ✅Being nice feels good in the short term. ✅Being kind builds trust, performance, and long‑term growth More and more, I’m choosing kind over nice. What is your experience? #Leadership #CareerGrowth #Management #PersonalGrowth #ChangeLeadership

Monday Momentum | Who are you? It’s Quarter One. 🔊 If you haven’t established your voice yet… you’re already blending in. 🧾 This week on Coach's Take Podcast, Yolanda M. Smith, CPBA asked a simple but uncomfortable question: “What are you going to do to differentiate yourself?” The golden arches are recognizable. The swoosh is recognizable. But in services? In coaching? In leadership? You’re not selling a product. 🔊 You’re selling perspective. Presence. Voice. Almost every company I work with has to answer the same thing: What’s your unique identifier? Why you? Yolanda built her brand not based on her name... 🙌 Her brand is based on her unique positioning. 🤩 She became memorable. That’s the challenge for all of us in 2026. Get out of the people pile. Stand for something. Say it clearly. Own it confidently. 📽️ Full episode drops this week. But for now, I’ll leave you with the question ❓️ : Who are you? ~ Coach #CoachsTake #PersonalBrand #Leadership #QuarterOne #StandOut #BrandStrategy #Growth
