Congratulations on this achievement reflecting strong leadership in medical research, innovation, and advancing healthcare quality in Saudi Arabia.
Undoubtedly, the contribution of KFSH&RC in achieving research excellence in the kingdom is commendable. However, the original name of this institution as per Royal Decree is “King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre ( KFSH&RC)”. Removing RC from the name of the institution , contradicts its very concept of Research and Innovation. I am writing this because in the past as well, some members of the medical affairs began to name it “KFSH “ only instead of KFSH&RC !! The word RC is like jewel in the crown . I hope the senior administration will take note of this deletion against the original decree.
King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center - This is an important achievement. What makes research leadership particularly valuable in healthcare is when scientific insight translates into measurable improvements in clinical practice, operational effectiveness, and patient experience. Sustaining that connection between research, innovation, and real-world care delivery is where long-term impact is created. Congratulations to the entire team.
Congratulations to KFSH&RC on this well-deserved recognition! Ranking first in the Nature Index 2025 highlights the hospital’s vital role in driving medical innovation and excellence in the region. Proud to witness such high research standards in our healthcare sector!
Well deserved
great work
Great news and well deserved. King Faisal, when the hospital was built and started operations, was very interested in having the "Research Centre" in the name of the hospital. It denoted the exceptional standards and future of the idea and support he freely gave to develop the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre for Saudi Arabia. HCA, Hospital Corporation of America, commissioned the hospital as well as staffed, operated, and managed the hospital for many years and met the criteria and standards that King Faisal expected and required. His vision and support is the basis of this great hospital. I was very pleased to have been involved from the very start and then opening of the hospital in 1975.
