Thirteen years ago, I started with a question: could better market data communicate the value of organic production and support growth? That question became Mercaris, a platform relied upon by everyone from small organic farms to USDA to Fortune 500 agribusiness leaders. We didn’t just collect data. We transformed complex market signals into usable, decision-ready insight — and did it with discipline, care, and accountability to every stakeholder. I’m deeply proud to have taken an idea from sketchpad to launch, through growth, and ultimately to acquisition by Argus Media. Very few entrepreneurs get to close the full loop — I don’t take that lightly. I’m now stepping away from my work of integrating Mercaris with Argus. It remains in the capable hands of Ryan Koory, Alexander Schultz and the Argus Media team. What I’ll carry forward most is gratitude — for the early believers, the teammates who built alongside me, and the customers who trusted us to serve their businesses well. I’m taking a short pause to reset. But I continue to be drawn to big, consequential problems. This feels like a moment that calls for builders — people willing to defend Democracy, expand opportunity, and pursue bold ideas with conviction. If that resonates, I’d welcome the conversation.
