The live sports control room is no longer confined to four walls. At the recent Streaming Media Connect webinar, Telestream’s Ken Haren joined an expert panel to discuss the seismic shift toward decentralized, cloud-native production. The transition from hardware-centric to software-centric workflows is unlocking unprecedented flexibility, but it isn't without its hurdles. The session dives deep into: - Decentralization: How collaborative platforms are synchronizing remote teams in real-time. - The Cloud Shift: Replacing traditional hardware with cloud-based switching and graphics without sacrificing broadcast quality. - The Infrastructure Challenge: Solving for latency and reliability while managing the complexities and costs of a software-driven environment. Ready to see how the industry is balancing innovation with the rigors of live sports? 📺 Watch the full recorded session here: https://lnkd.in/gQgWVkw9 #Telestream #LiveSports #CloudProduction #BroadcastTech #RemoteProduction #StreamingMediaConnect

Heading to Extreme Connect 2026 next week, and the anxiety is already setting in. Not from travel — I’ve made peace with airports (even Orlando) — but from knowing I’ll come home with more ideas than any sane person should try to execute. Still, I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how Extreme Networks pushes the narrative that they’re far more than a Wi‑Fi company. The fabric story, the cloud control plane, the broader platform shift, it’s all maturing fast. I’m also watching for updates on Platform ONE. It’s not even a year old, and I’m expecting roadmap clarity and a few new product announcements that show where their AI‑driven automation is headed. And yes, I’m still interested in Wi‑Fi 7 at stadium scale, especially any lessons learned and what’s coming next as devices finally catch up. If you want the deeper dive, check out the video I just posted where I break down what I’m excited to see and why it matters. As announcements break I will be posting the details over on the NAND Research main site. Stay Tuned! #ExtremeConnect #MichaelMcDowell #NANDResearch Ben Culp

"T-Mobile’s big telco plot twist – from ‘un-carrier’ rebel to industry pace-setter"....NOW THAT'S A HEADLINE :) and you def should read all of it!!!! There was a time when T-Mobile’s role in telecom was easy to define: the insurgent. The “uncarrier.” The brand throwing elbows from the outside. But something more interesting is happening now. And trust, its pivotal. Over the last few years, T-Mobile has been steadily assembling a different kind of story..... one built not just on marketing disruption, but on technical ambition, AI leadership, and a surprisingly coherent view of where networks are headed next. Our latest work with Ericsson on AI-native scheduling and link adaptation is part of that evolution. On the surface, it’s a deeply technical milestone tied to #5GAdvanced. But zoom out, and it reflects something bigger: the emergence of networks that can adapt, optimize, and eventually reason in real time. At the same time, the company is increasingly showing how advanced connectivity can shape consumer experiences in ways that feel tangible and immediate ... from immersive MLB experiences to powering AI-enabled mixed reality, real-time analytics, and #private5G broadcast innovations at the PGA Championship One industry observer recently described T-Mobile as “a carrier with clear brand personality, backed by technical substance, tied to a coherent vision about where the industry is headed.” That framing has obviously stuck with me because it captures a rare combination in telecom: narrative and execution moving in sync. And perhaps the biggest plot twist of all? The former challenger brand increasingly looks like the operator others are now chasing. Technology leadership is never one announcement. It’s the accumulation of signals, partnerships, experiments, infrastructure bets, and customer experiences that eventually add up to momentum and right now, that momentum feels very real. https://lnkd.in/gKu9G4XT
