Jason Gorman’s Post

Podcasting might just be my favorite job right now. I love interviewing, but tomorrow I'm being interviewed by Luke Hobson, EdD, on his podcast. Very exciting! We're talking about how an instructional designer might transition to consulting or entrepreneurship. 12 months ago, I didn't have this job of podcast host/guest. I wasn't running the AI Forum for Learning Professionals yet (btw, there's one devoted to Claude Code with Brick Maier on March 5th - lmk if interested). We weren't holding live sessions about storytelling for learning design (like I am in March along with James Altman and Simon Greenwold). But with the world changing as fast as it is, I gave myself all these jobs because talking and meeting with people in our field (and adjacent to our field) is essential in ways it never has been before. I'm an introvert who loves his "cave time," but I can't express how grateful I am for all the people who are putting themselves out there for connection and to build meaning and direction with their fellow travelers.

Love this energy! How did you overcome that introvert hesitation to put yourself out there consistently?

And you are good at it dude!

Enjoyed the episode, Jason!
