A firm push in the right direction from across government, elevating cyber security to board-level, and placing greater emphasis on supply chain resilience.

In 2024 the MassCyberCenter awarded Salem State University a $624,437 grant to establish and operate a cybersecurity training facility, or cyber range, on its campus. This Cyber Range and Training Center is a leading provider of technology and workforce development programs across Massachusetts. One recent professional training event was a Cybersecurity training on Incident Response Planning for MA State Police and National Guard. A key voice in the national conversation on cybersecurity, DMU academic Dr Ismini Vasileiou launched a new government paper in Westminster last week on the UK’s national cyber workforce. Also a lecturer on our Cyber Security undergraduate course, she’s passionate about training the next generation of experts at DMU but believes that teaching cyber skills should start even earlier than that. “Cybersecurity is no longer the domain of a few specialists; it’s a societal skill. Teaching cyber awareness from a young age helps build a foundation of curiosity and responsibility.
