In California alone, more than 150,000 homeowners have lost access to private insurance in recent years. Across the West, businesses and communities are confronting rising deductibles, shrinking coverage, and non-renewals. Arbol launched our new parametric wildfire insurance product earlier this month to help fill this widening gap. Following the launch, our CEO Siddhartha Jha spoke with Henry Gale at The Insurer about how growing broker and consumer education is creating momentum for parametric wildfire coverage. With traditional carriers exiting, demand for scalable solutions that restore protection is only growing. Read the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/ez3JvmFh Wildfire is only the beginning. As climate volatility intensifies and traditional insurers withdraw, Arbol is focused on closing protection gaps in markets deemed “uninsurable” - ensuring that households, businesses, and entire communities have access to the coverage they need.

What to look for when choosing a Public Insurance Adjuster: When property damage happens, whether from a hurricane, plumbing leak, fire, or roof issue, the insurance claim process can feel overwhelming. That’s exactly when hiring a public insurance adjuster can make all the difference. A public adjuster works for you, not the insurance company, to make sure your claim is handled fairly and you get the full settlement you deserve. But not all adjusters are created equal. Choosing the right one can directly impact how smoothly your claim goes, and the amount you recover. Here’s what to look for when choosing a public adjuster in Florida: 1. Verify They Are Licensed And Legitimate In Florida, all public adjusters must be licensed by the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS). Always verify their license number before signing a contract. A legitimate adjuster will gladly provide you with proof of licensing and explain your rights as a policyholder. If someone avoids your question or pressures you to sign paperwork right away, that’s a big red flag. ✅ Pro Tip: It’s important that they belong to a professional trade association like Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (FAPIA) (https://www.fapia.net/). You can verify a public adjuster’s license directly on the FAPIA website (https://lnkd.in/dAMc4uxX). 2. Look For Experience With Your Type Of Claim Experience matters. Every claim is different whether you have hurricane damage, a fire loss, or water damage, all require different documentation and negotiation strategies. Choose a public adjuster who specializes in your type of property damage and who has successfully handled claims like yours. Ask how long they have been in business and how many claims they have settled in South Florida. 🏡 Admitted vs. Non-Admitted Insurance in California — What’s the Difference? With so many California homeowners being dropped or priced out of their insurance due to wildfire risk, it’s more important than ever to understand your options. Admitted Carriers: ✅ Licensed and regulated by the California Department of Insurance (CDI) ✅ Rates and coverage must be approved by the state ✅ Backed by the California Insurance Guarantee Association (CIGA) if the company fails ⚠️ Harder to get coverage in high-risk areas Non-Admitted (Surplus Lines) Carriers: ⚡ Not licensed by the state, but legally allowed to operate ⚡ Offer flexible coverage for homes traditional insurers won’t cover ⚡ Not backed by the state guarantee fund ⚡ Often used in wildfire or high-risk zones In short: Admitted = More regulation + protection Non-Admitted = More flexibility + less safety net Before choosing a policy, always check the insurer’s financial strength and understand what’s covered (and what’s not). Knowledge is power — especially when protecting your home and peace of mind. 💪🏽🏠 #losangeles #westlakevillage #thousandoaks #simivalley #conejovalley #agourahills #moorpark #calabasas #california #camarillo
