Merwin Award for Distinguished Service, in recognition of "exemplary service, leadership, and dedication to IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society, as well as long-lasting contributions to the computing profession." The Merwin Award honors individuals for outstanding volunteer service to the profession at large, including significant service to the Computer Society. This recognition reflects the support and inspiration of many colleagues, far too numerous to name here. I am deeply grateful for their constant encouragement and collaboration throughout my career.
It is great to see a great human be recognized. Jean-Luc Gaudiot is a great leader among us and not an ardent self-promoter and helped to raise the profile of IEEE publications. I'm always grateful for the years we have overlapped while I was also a volunteer in the Computer Society as an EIC for Computing in Science and Engineering. And I always look forward to our annual visits in my hometown!
