Hey LinkedIn family it is National coop month and to celebrate it this year I thought it would be a good idea to share some tips from my previous experiences. I am a 4th year Student at McMaster University studying Automation Engineering Technology. For those who may not know I have worked at Ford Motor Company as a embedded software engineer and am currently working at GEOTAB as a business development intern. A skill which I gained over the past year is problem solving. Not only has it help be grow as a person but has made my coop experience that much easier. Having the ability to solve a problem with minimal help leads to a couple of things 1) Gaining knowledge 2) Developing research skills and 3) Critical thinking skills. In my opinion these 3 things are one of the keys to having a successful coop experience. Hopefully this short post gave some insight as to how my coop experience was and what made it valuable. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions regarding my coop experiences and I will be happy to share! #InspiredWIL #MacEng
