I used to finish projects by starting them over. Twice. Sometimes three times. 😅 And for a long time, I thought that was just... coding. I thought it was supposed to be hard like that. I'd hit a bug. Fix it. A new one appears. Fix that. Two more show up. Google it. Stack Overflow? Their best answer was sometimes "start a new template." So I did. Over and over again. I never questioned WHY this kept happening. I just assumed I wasn't good enough yet, that this was the price of learning. The real problem? I was mixing logic with UI. My code had no structure. No organisation. No separation. Everything was connected to everything — but not in a way I could understand or trace. So when something broke, I was essentially debugging blindfolded. Fixing the wrong files. Creating new problems while solving old ones. Going in circles for months. Starting fresh felt like progress. It wasn't. I was just resetting the clock on the same mistake. The day I learned to write clean, organised code — separating logic from UI, structuring my files properly — projects stopped feeling like they were fighting me. Bugs became fixable. Features became addable. Code became readable. If you're stuck in that loop right now — restarting the same project over and over, thinking you're just bad at this — you're probably not bad at coding. Native vs Cross-Platform: When building a mobile app, this question always comes up: native or cross-platform? Native apps are built separately for each platform 1) Android with Kotlin and iOS with Swift. They usually offer the best performance, but maintaining two codebases takes more time and budget. 2) Cross-platform frameworks like Flutter and React Native allow one codebase for both platforms, which speeds up development. 3) Then there’s Kotlin Multiplatform — sharing the business logic while keeping the UI native. In the end, there’s no single “best” option. It really depends on the product and priorities.

While building a React Native app, I recently compared AsyncStorage and MMKV. At first I used AsyncStorage like most developers: await AsyncStorage.getItem("token") It works well, but since it’s asynchronous, you always need async/await. Then I tried MMKV for the same task. storage.getString("token") No async, no await — it reads instantly. In a small test where I saved and read values many times, MMKV felt faster and simpler to use. My simple takeaway: • AsyncStorage → good for basic storage • MMKV → better when performance matters Sometimes small changes like this can make an app feel smoother.
