What does transformation really look like? At SAP NOW in São Paulo last week, I had the privilege of sharing the stage with Guilherme Segalla de Mello, President of MRS Logística S.A., which is one of Brazil’s most strategic logistics companies. And I’ve been thinking about his story ever since. To me, it’s the perfect example of why transformation is never about technology alone. It’s always about creating the agility, flexibility, and resilience to power an entire economy. MRS runs one of the largest freight rail networks in Brazil. They support essential industries like mining, steel, and agriculture by moving commodities across critical corridors 24/7. And by taking the RISE with SAP journey, they have the flexibility to adapt to changing markets and grow with confidence – and all while maintaining operational resilience and long-term scalability. This matters far beyond logistics because every industry faces the same imperatives: -The need to scale growth and integrate new lines of business without disruption -The need to stay agile with a clean, flexible core -The need to move faster, but in the right ways, with governance and trust paramount -And the need to harness the power of AI and automation to empower people and operations. And because of their transformation journey with SAP, MRS has their sights set on achieving even more critical outcomes for their business. With each of their trains generating approximately 1,500 data points, they soon hope to be able to achieve things such as: -Moving trains based on changing weather conditions -Dispatching repair crews to address problems before they show up on routine inspections -Using agentic AI to maximize outcomes for their workforce and improve their employee experiences. The transformation at MRS is proof that when you get the foundation right, you’re not just running better. You are building the capacity to reinvent continuously. That’s the kind of agility every enterprise needs today! And for that, I’m proud to make MRS my Americas Customer Win of the Week! Obrigado, MRS, for showing us what bold transformation looks like in action. #BusinessTransformation, #DigitalTransformation, #RISEwithSAP, #CustomerSuccess, #Brazil, #WinOfTheWeek
Jan Gilg , you are spot on, true transformation is about building the capacity for continuous reinvention. It is about enabling growth, strengthening resilience, and delivering superior customer experiences that create lasting enterprise value. It is a great reminder that when you get the foundation right, innovation and reinvention become part of the culture, not just the roadmap.
And if you want to know what challenges 909 top international managers had to overcome on the path to IT transformation, you should read the 2025 Transformation Study. Of course, it includes a nice foreword by Jan Gilg. 😀 https://www.natuvion.com/transformation-study-2025/
