It was an honor to serve as M.C. for the 2026 Global Virus Network Annual Scientific Meeting, “Pandemic Preparedness?”. #GVNAnnualMeeting2026 Over several days, virologists, researchers, and public health leaders from around the world came together to share research, strengthen collaboration, and advance the science needed to address viral threats. I was especially grateful for the opportunity to engage with leaders in the field, including my friend Dr. Robert Gallo, whose pioneering work continues to influence virology and global health. Meetings like this highlight the power of international scientific collaboration in strengthening pandemic preparedness and accelerating discovery.
