Yup. How vain are you? If having stronger fingernails and bouncier hair is more important to you than not getting cancer, then guess what? Darwin wins ☠️ Drop the biotin, silly people.

It’s not about bouncier hair or stronger nails. I have alopecia areata which is an immune response where the immune system attacks the hair follicles on the head in patches, as well as general thinning. It also causes finger nails to soften and peel. I had steroid injections into my scalp (exceedingly painful process) to reduce the inflammation and encourage hair to grow back. I’m thankful my hair came back in those areas, but Biotin is often recommended in tablet form to help the hair follicles. My shampoo has it in to help with healing and making the hair stronger. I wouldn’t take the pill form and will only be on the shampoo until my hair is back to normal. The alopecia has thankfully gone into remission. I wouldn’t classify myself as silly, and I’m certainly not the vain type. I obviously can’t control how others view me, and nor do I particularly care, but some people have taken Biotin for genuine reasons.
