#STATIC ROUTING# Here we manually configure a path for network traffic, rather than relying on dynamic routing protocol. Defining the destination network , subnet mask and next-hop ip address or the exit interface for a route. Nevertheless, i used next-hop interface….thereafter, used ping to test the connectivity.

Difference Between Uplink Port and Upstream Interface on Cisco Devices Uplink Port Definition : A dedicated physical port on a Cisco switch or router designed for higher-speed connections to other network devices (e.g., core switches, routers, or service providers). Purpose : Used to aggregate traffic from multiple lower-speed ports (downlinks) and connect to higher-capacity network segments. Examples :Gigabit Ethernet (1G), 10G, 25G, 40G, or 100G ports (often labeled as "Uplink" on Upstream Interface Definition : A logical or physical interface that connects a device toward the core network or ISP (the "upstream" direction). Purpose : Defines the path traffic takes toward a higher-tier network (e.g., from an access switch to a distribution/core router). Examples :A router’s WAN interface (e.g., GigabitEthernet0/0/0 connected to an ISP). A switch port connected to a core router . A logical tunnel interface (e.g., GRE, MPLS) leading to an upstream provider. Characteristics :Not necessarily a dedicated uplink port (can be any interface). Often configured with QoS, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), or NAT for upstream traffic.

What is the full name of xPON ONU? https://lnkd.in/gqJFxsGJ xPON ONU stands for x Passive Optical Network Optical Network Unit. Key breakdown: xPON: "x" represents different technology types (such as GPON, EPON, 10G-PON, etc.). Its core is a "passive optical network," achieving signal transmission through optical fiber and passive devices (no power supply). ONU: "Optical Network Unit," is the user-side terminal equipment in an xPON system, responsible for converting fiber optic signals into electrical signals usable by the user (such as Ethernet or telephone signals). Core Positioning: It is a key device for home and business access to xPON fiber optic networks. One end connects to the operator's OLT (Optical Line Terminal), and the other end provides network access for terminals such as computers and routers.
