Intel’s new Core Ultra 200S Plus series represents an aggressive move to increase the competitive heat in the desktop market by prioritizing performance-per-dollar. Launching March 26, the 250K Plus ($199) and 270K Plus ($299) deliver significantly more hardware for the price, with the 270K Plus essentially offering flagship 24-core specs at a mid-range point. Technical shifts include a 900MHz internal frequency boost to slash latency and the debut of the Intel Binary Optimization Tool, a unique bridge designed to optimize existing game code for Intel x86 architecture. By maintaining 800-series motherboard compatibility and introducing support for high-capacity 4R CUDIMM memory, Intel is positioning this "Arrow Lake Refresh" as a high-efficiency alternative for both gamers and multi-threaded productivity users. NEW Benchmark Report 📢 Recently, the team at Xelera Technologies tested the latest version of their Silva machine-learning inference software on the Blackcore ACE 3100-TS+ server equipped with an AMD Alveo U50 FPGA accelerator.⚡ Xelera's Head of Acceleration Technology, Andrea Suardi, said: "The Blackcore® Technologies® ACE 3100-TS+ was the right choice precisely because it lets us demonstrate both of Silva's deployment modes honestly. With 32 cores at 5.1 GHz, Silva, running CPU-only, can already hit sub-microsecond latency on selected models. When you move to FPGA offload via the PCIe interface, you can scale the number of models running concurrently while keeping tail latency under control. That's the combination that matters in latency-critical production environments.” 📊 Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/eYEbkzsv 🔗Learn More about our Labs Partner program: https://lnkd.in/erNkfNEB

Really interesting to see the evolution of the Silva platform by Xelera Technologies. 📈 Particularly interesting to see the development of a CPU only mode and how that compares to FPGA acceleration - especially on smaller models. Benchmarks like this really help to highlight key insights into how you might architect for different strategies and how software-based and FPGA accelerated approaches can both form key parts of an overall trading stack. Another great output from the Blackcore® Technologies Labs program - thanks to all involved! 👏

Is RISC-V the next big shift in processor architecture? For many years, Arm Ltd. architectures have dominated the embedded systems world, powering billions of microcontrollers and SoCs. Recently, **RISC-V International based processors are gaining strong industry attention. Why is RISC-V becoming popular? • Open ISA – no licensing fees • Customizable architecture – companies can add their own instructions • No vendor lock-in – more design freedom • Growing ecosystem – increasing toolchain and RTOS support • Rising industry adoption That said, ARM still leads with its mature ecosystem, strong tooling, and proven reliability. The real future may not be ARM vs RISC-V, but ARM and RISC-V coexisting across different applications. #EmbeddedSystems #RISCV #ARM #Microcontrollers #Semiconductors 🚀

PCIe Gen 5 promises up to 32 GT/s, but many systems fail to reach that performance in real deployments. Often, the bottleneck isn't the hardware; it's protocol behavior. In our latest blog post, we explore how protocol-level issues impact throughput and how deep analysis helps uncover the real cause.
