💡 Modern Examination Tech: Governance, Implementation & Outcomes As higher education continues its digital transformation, the next frontier lies in modernizing examinations — not just to make them faster, but to make them fairer, transparent, and future-ready. Across universities, I’ve seen how technology can redefine assessment integrity when thoughtfully implemented. Yet, as we embrace innovation, the real challenge is not adoption — it’s governance, fairness, and trust. We’re evaluating three transformative technologies that could reshape how universities assess learning outcomes: 🔹 AI Proctoring – enabling secure, scalable, and flexible examinations. 🔹 Blockchain Credentials – ensuring verifiable, tamper-proof academic records. 🔹 AI-Assisted Paper Setting – improving alignment with learning objectives and academic rigor. But technology alone isn’t enough. Here’s what matters most across stakeholders: For University Management ✔️ Establish cross-functional governance and clear incident response mechanisms. ✔️ Apply privacy-by-design and ethical AI principles. ✔️ Measure ROI and scalability through pilot dashboards and transparent KPIs. For Faculty ✔️ Maintain fairness through human-in-the-loop evaluation. ✔️ Use transparent rubrics to align AI support with pedagogy. ✔️ Balance automation with meaningful academic oversight. For Students ✔️ Prioritize privacy, consent, and data transparency. ✔️ Guarantee accessibility across devices and modes of learning. ✔️ Provide rubric-based, timely feedback to build trust in the system. Ultimately, technology in assessment should empower learning, not replace it. The goal is to achieve integrity, inclusivity, and innovation — together. I’d love to hear from fellow educators, exam reformers, and EdTech professionals — 👉 How are you approaching AI-driven examinations, blockchain credentials, or proctoring ethics at your institution? #ExaminationReforms #DigitalTransformation #AIinEducation #AcademicIntegrity #BlockchainCredentials #HigherEducation #AssessmentInnovation

In 2011, my study “Utilization of the internet by students of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria" revealed that most students relied on cybercafés for research and assignments struggling with high data costs, slow connections, and limited access. Link to the article: https://lnkd.in/gq9QDCs6 Fast forward to today: mobile phones have replaced cybercafés, digital learning has expanded, and access has improved but the quality and affordability of Internet access for students still remain critical issues. As education becomes increasingly digital, quality education must go hand in hand with quality Internet. It’s time to ensure every student can learn, research, and innovate without barriers. #comic generated using #AI #DigitalInclusion #EdTech #HigherEducation #Nigeria #UniversityOfIbadan #DigitalTransformation #ResearchInnovation #Internet #EducationForAll #BridgingTheDigitalDivide #StudentEmpowerment #TechnologyInEducation #MobileLearning #ConnectedCampus

When Piera was a child, her curiosity about technology began with a computer that barely worked. “Instead of giving up,” she recalled, “I took this sad device as a challenge and started learning how to fix it, how to install software (without a license, sorry about that), and how to do some basic coding.” That combination of persistence and wonder became the foundation for an academic journey that now explores how artificial intelligence, cyber governance and global security intersect. Today, as a PhD student in the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, Celis is examining the ethical, social and political dimensions of emerging technologies. Through her research at the Center for Governance of Technology and Systems (GoTech) and the @Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland (CISSM), Celis explores how digital technologies shape power and accountability in global affairs. Building on her background in sociology and her policy work in Latin America, her research bridges technical expertise with social science insight. For the full feature: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eGP8GgFk

[Congratulations ! 🏆] Ioan-Tudor Cebere, a PhD student at Centre Inria d'Université Côte d'Azur, Inria Université de Montpellier, team-project PreMeDiCaL 🛜https://lnkd.in/eZQaC6BK is a recipient of the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗗 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 👉 https://lnkd.in/gf5xyfPt 👏 These fellowships recognize outstanding graduate students who are conducting exceptional and innovative research in computer science and related fields, specifically focusing on candidates who seek to influence the future of technology. 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 ▶️ #AI is powering incredible innovations, particularly in #medicine, but this progress runs on massive amounts of our personal, sensitive data. This creates a challenge: how do we get the benefits of AI without sacrificing #privacy and trust? Ioan-Tudor Cebere works to close the gap between the theory of trustworthy AI and the practical systems we actually deploy. We need to be able to prove that an algorithm is trustworthy, audit it in practice, and make it run efficiently under real-world constraints. His work centers around Differential Privacy (DP), the 'gold standard' that lets us learn useful patterns from data while mathematically preventing inferences about any single person. His goal is to apply this powerful theory to the real world, ensuring that the privacy guarantees we promise are the ones we actually deliver. The core of his work addresses the key barriers to adopting DP in #machinelearning. He designs #algorithms that better balance privacy, fairness, and utility, and by developing auditing methods to verify that the privacy guarantees are truly respected in practice. 🎤 Ioan-Tudor Cebere : "𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘮𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵. 💭 Have you ever been excited to learn something new — a course, a research topic, or a programming tutorial — and then spent the next 10 minutes just waiting for the page to load? For many students across Pakistan, that’s not a rare moment — it’s everyday reality. Internet connections might show “full bars,” but the experience is far from complete. In an era where knowledge lives online, slow or limited internet access quietly kills curiosity. Students want to explore AI, cybersecurity, data science, or robotics — but how can they, when even a simple YouTube lecture or research paper takes ages to open? This isn’t just about speed — it’s about opportunity. We talk about digital Pakistan, but before anything else, we need accessible, stable, and affordable internet for all learners. Because when a student can access the world, they can change it. 🌍✨ Disclaimer: Visual concept created with AI to represent the issue symbolically. #DigitalTransformation #EdTech #LearningChallenges #PakistanEducation #InternetForAll #BridgingTheGap
