Unlock Ethical AI in Your School or Institution. AI is transforming education, but responsible, human-centered integration is essential. A comprehensive AI policy has been developed, aligned with Ian’s Taxonomy, to guide lecturers and students in ethical, skills-focused, and critical-thinking-based use of AI. Educational leaders are invited to request a customized AI policy for their institution. Use it, adapt it, and implement it to ensure AI empowers learning without replacing human judgment. If you’re ready to lead your institution in responsible AI adoption, comment below or send a direct message to start the process. #AIinEducation #EdTech #EthicalAI #DigitalLiteracy #Leadership #FutureofLearning #IanTaxonomy

AI and Human Responsibility: Who’s Really Accountable? As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our workplaces and classrooms, the question of accountability grows more important: can we really hold machines responsible, or does the responsibility lie entirely with us? For students, AI tools can assist with research, learning, and collaboration—but understanding ethical boundaries ensures we use these technologies responsibly. For workers, AI can streamline workflows, but accountability for decisions made with AI remains a human responsibility. UoPeople’s latest blog explores the human side of AI responsibility and why verifying what machines are allowed to do is crucial for both learners and professionals. If anyone is interested in developing their skills in Artificial Intelligence in Education, AI Ethics & Responsible Innovation, Leadership Development, or Organizational Behavior, I'd like to share a quick thought based on my experience that might be helpful. 💬 Here are some tips for developing this skill: 1. Start with curiosity. Explore how AI tools (like ChatGPT or Canva Magic Write) can enhance teaching, not replace it. 2. Build an ethical foundation. Focus on how and why AI decisions are made, and teach students to ask those same questions. 3. Integrate leadership principles. Treat AI as a tool for service, not a status symbol. Model responsible use through transparency and accountability. 4. Learn continuously. Take short online courses (IBM Applied AI, University of Helsinki's Elements of AI, or ISTE's AI Explorations). 5. Reflect through faith and purpose. Balance innovation with integrity by grounding your decisions in values that build trust. My takeaway: AI literacy isn't just about algorithms. It's about cultivating wisdom in how we use technology to serve others. #AIEthics #Education #LeadershipDevelopment #FaithAndInnovation #ArtificialIntelligence #OrganizationalBehavior #TeachingWithPurpose

I've recently started sharing a series on learning and teaching in the age of AI. My latest piece explores how educators are rethinking assessment when AI can ace any traditional test. The implications reach beyond classrooms. In school, there was usually one right answer. In business, there rarely is. We still manage people like there's a correct way to do everything. Document it. Standardize it. Measure compliance. AI just blew that model apart because it automates standards. The value lies in knowing when to break the process. That's uncomfortable for leaders who built their careers on expertise and proven methods. It's also liberating. Instead of being the person with all the answers, you get to be the person who helps others develop better questions. This mirrors what's happening in education, where forward-thinking teachers are shifting from testing recall to evaluating reasoning. The workplace version? Less focus on performance reviews that measure outputs, more emphasis on development conversations that build capability. What would you need to let go of to make that shift? #AI #companyculture #changemanagement #leadership

WHEN AI FAILS STUDENTS Recently, my daughter was falsely flagged by an AI detection tool for supposedly using artificial intelligence to write her essay. As both a parent and an AI consultant, I decided to investigate. What I uncovered highlights a much larger issue — how AI systems can misjudge honest work and why educational institutions need better processes for fairness and accountability. In my latest article, I share what happened, how we analyzed the evidence, and practical recommendations for schools, students, and technology leaders to ensure AI supports integrity rather than undermines it. AI in schools isn’t about replacing teachers — it’s about empowering them. Used thoughtfully, AI can: ✅ Support personalized learning paths ✅ Help identify learning gaps early ✅ Give teachers more time to focus on mentorship, not paperwork But success depends on balance — pairing technological innovation with human connection and ethical guidance. The classrooms that embrace AI wisely today are shaping the leaders of tomorrow. #AIinEducation #Teaching #Innovation #EdTech #StudentSuccess

This is a pivotal moment for education leaders. AI is a foundational technology that requires strategic thinking. Instead of asking if AI will replace employees (it won't—the human element is irreplaceable), we need to focus on implementing clear policies and professional development that shift the focus from cheating to productivity and differentiation. #AIinEducation #EdTech #K12Leadership #FutureofWork #EducationPolicy
