I really enjoyed attending last night’s webinar with Journo Resources How To Shift From Journalist To Author with Shahed Ezaydi. Lots of useful takeaways on everything from shaping a book idea and writing a proposal to finding an agent and managing the process alongside a full-time job. ✍ As someone interested in storytelling and long-form writing, I came away with plenty of practical insights and inspiration. Congratulations to Shahed on the launch of the new book, and thanks to JournoRequest for hosting such a useful session. 📚 #Journalism #Writing #Authors #Publishing

After writing your introduction, the next challenge is often clarity. Many researchers try to impress with complex sentences… but end up confusing the reader. A good paper is not about sounding complicated, it’s about being understood. Ask yourself: - Can someone outside my field understand this? - Is each sentence clear and direct? - Am I explaining, or just writing? Clarity builds impact. Simple writing is not a weakness—it’s a strength in research. #ResearchWriting #AcademicWriting #PhDJourney #ResearchTips #WritingSkills #Clarity #HigherEducation

Confidence in your writing doesn’t come from rewriting the same paragraph over and over! It comes from having a clear structure for your argument. Most people aren’t bad at writing, they’re just stuck reorganizing the same paragraph 12 times 😅 SageWrite helps you organize your thoughts, so instead of doubting every sentence, you finally move forward 🤝 #sagewrite #writingconfidence #academiclife #researchwriting #studentsupport #productivity

In the publishing industry, trust is the currency. And the only way to build that trust consistently is through rigorous self-editing. I've just released the latest issue of my newsletter, Foundations, dedicated entirely to the craft and business of self-editing. It's not just about grammar; it's about delivering a product that respects the reader's time and investment. My core thesis in this issue: "A well-edited book builds trust. Trust builds a backlist. A backlist builds a career." For authors navigating the transition from hobbyist to professional, this breakdown covers the strategic necessity of the edit.
