We 70s and 80s babies were promised ease and relaxation into adulthood. I demand a refund. This isn't what I signed up for! 🤣 Here’s what I see across the country: Brilliant, capable humans who don’t actually want more productivity hacks. They want something that feels like calm and steadiness. And despite that desire, we keep optimizing for CONVENIENCE... but what we need most are the tools to build CAPACITY. If you’ve ever thought, “Wait, is THIS the future we were promised?” This clip is for you. Let's talk about it honestly - when you were a kid, what did you think this phase of your career would feel like? (Still waiting for my marg, Rosie.) ____ 👩🏻 Who is she? Henna Pryor, CSP is a Workplace Performance Expert, keynote speaker, and award-winning author of Good Awkward. She speaks to leaders and teams on mindset, courage, and navigating disruption. Frequently recommended for conferences, sales kickoffs, and leadership retreats. Wildly enthusiastic about dark chocolate and 90's hip-hop. #DominatingDisruption #MentalFitness #FutureOfWork

Ooooh, I feel this! It's not productivity if it adds MORE work to my plate! I think there are two things that can feel "missing", that causes the lack of ease: stable systems (just as soon as we build those, they're obsolete!) and a clear path. I know when I was starting my career and looked up to leaders, it felt like they had a clear path. Now that I'm the one in the driver's seat, I wonder: "was it easier to find a clear path in those days? Or did the path just look clearer because someone ELSE was leading the way?"

I tried a robot vacuum once. It was such a let down that it went back in the box for a year because I couldn't regulate my disappointment. Fortunately, I'm much better in times of real crisis. I found that box recently and re-homed it. And my mother has told me numerous times how excited she is that her new vacuum cleans under the bed. My robot taught me an important lesson: someone's disappointment can be someone else's joy. Perspective is everything.

I love this and can relate…although sometimes when I am on Zoom I do think back to being a kid watching the Jetsons and remembering the “video telephone” seemed crazy, yet here it is in our lives every day. 😂

Sooooooooo good Henna Pryor, CSP - all of it! Including a throwback reference to the Jetsons which was one of my favorites! Emotionally Regulated humans are GOLD. It's a learned super power and when you wear that cape, people will naturally gravitate to you...energetically. Given all the stimuli that society throws at us in the 24-7 world we live in - it can be elusive but so cathartic when in that mindset!

“I demand a refund” 😂😂

I love how you embody exactly what you’re describing — clear, calm, but also fully connected to reality (and somehow still hopeful about it!). So good.

Henna Pryor, CSP Same here. Childhood expectations vs. adult reality are wild. But building mental and professional capacity makes the difference between surviving and dominating. 💪🔥

Leadership Messengers™ consistently identifies speakers who address the capacity versus convenience tension rather than offering superficial productivity solutions.

I love how you call out the gap between convenience and capacity, real growth comes from building endurance, not just chasing shortcuts.

YUP! I mean it’s not too much to ask, is it?!? Let’s GO robot makers!!!🤖🍹 Henna Pryor, CSP you, as usual, made me laugh AND made me think!
