Gulnaz Sayed’s Post

Yesterday marks the last day of my software engineering internship at Microsoft. This summer, I worked with the React Native Controls Crew on CXE Shared, under Microsoft Office. During my internship, I worked on the web platform of FluentUI, the open-source library of UX frameworks used to build cross-platform applications that share code, design, and controls. My project pioneered the usage of React Native Web in FluentUI and enables users to test controls and preview themes that power Microsoft Office 365 apps used by over 60 million users. A special thank you to my manager, Jason Morse, and my mentor, Tariq Amireh, for guiding me through my internship and giving me advice that I can apply beyond my 12-week internship at Microsoft. I would also like to thank my team, Srividya Ramaswamy, Andrew Dewar, and everyone I met through intern networking events for virtually connecting with me and mentoring me throughout the summer. Lastly, thank you to Microsoft for making it possible to intern virtually during the pandemic and allow me the opportunity to connect with such an inspiring network. Thank you all for a great summer! #microsoft #microsoftintern #microsoftoffice #softwareengineering #reactnative #fluentui
