Somedays I feel like the most used word in my client conversations is...workaround. The LMS doesn't do that...let me find a workaround. The SME wants it to show what?... Let me find a workaround. We need to migrate that how fast?... Let me find a workaround. But I'm a problem solver at heart so I dive into building, crafting, weaving together a workaround that solves the issue any way I can. Over the years I've built quite the stockpile of tricks to solve the never ending gaps in LMSs and authoring tools. This week, I migrated a client from #Lessonly to #LearnUpon. Overall they love their new LMS home, but Lessonly had flip cards and all their content relied heavily on those simple flipcards to break up text and reinforce key points. LearnUpon doesn't have flipcards in it's native course builder and doesn't always play nicely with some of the embeddable solutions. So I took a minute or two to clean up the html I use to convert and rebuild iframe codes into a clean format that LearnUpon will use and turned it into a tool my clients can use anytime moving forward. It's the first of the LMS Genie Suite to officially launch and for this client it's given them back the ability to bring flipcards and inline interactivity into the native LearnUpon course builder. The client's happy, I'm happy, and support is probably happy to quit hearing from me this week. Sometimes it's the simplest things that can make the biggest difference in a tool you use everyday!

You spent weeks building the course. Every interaction. Every trigger. Every "why isn't this working" moment at 11pm. And then you hit Publish and realized — wait. There's more than one button. And they all do different things. And nobody mentioned that during the build. Turns out, how you publish a Storyline 360 course matters just as much as how you built it. The wrong publish option doesn't just create extra work — it creates a course that doesn't work when a learner actually tries to open it. Today's video walks through the publishing options in Storyline 360 and what each one actually does to the files your course generates. Because "I just clicked Publish and hoped for the best" is a strategy — just not a good one. You finished building the course. Now what? For many developers, the next step is simple: click Publish and send the file to the LMS. But Storyline actually provides several publishing options depending on what you're trying to accomplish. You might be generating a package for an LMS, preparing a version for web hosting, sending a review copy to stakeholders, or simply testing the lesson locally before distribution. In today’s segment, I walk through the publishing options available in Articulate Storyline and how they affect the files Storyline generates when the course is built. The teaser video introduces the publishing interface and explains how Storyline prepares a project for distribution. 🎬 Watch the video here: https://lnkd.in/gaFkkti3 Because sometimes the final step in development is the one that determines whether the course actually works when learners open it. #ArticulateStoryline #Storyline360 #InstructionalDesign #eLearningDevelopment #Elearning #ATD

When evaluating an LMS, the demo should go beyond features - it should prove efficiency. A strong LMS demo will clearly show how quickly an admin can: • Create or upload courses • Enroll groups of learners • Set deadlines and automated reminders • Track completions and progress • Update content without rebuilding from scratch If these core workflows aren’t simple and intuitive, it may not scale with your organization’s needs. Focus on outcomes, not just functionality. https://hubs.li/Q048hg2G0
