My first professional sales job was a Sales Engineer. I came off the tools as an electrician and was thrown a set of car keys, and the manager said “you’re now in sales, here’s the keys, get going”! No sales training, no sales manager accompanying me on calls, no sales process, no KPIs, I was set up for failure!
