From floppy to AI: What does it really mean to be an "expert" in cybersecurity? In 1990, being a security expert was a bit like being a locksmith. Physical accesses, Michelangelo floppy disks and isolated systems were managed. Security was an option. In 2026, the expert became an architect of planetary resilience. 🌍The profession has radically changed: 🔹 1990: We protected the perimeter (the castle). 🔹 2026: The perimeter no longer exists. We protect identity and data everywhere (Zero Trust). 🔹 1990: We were fighting passionate hackers. 🔹 2026: We orchestrate AI agents to counter waves of automated ransomware and ultra-sophisticated deepfakes. The big difference? In 2026, the expert no longer "surveils" logs. It supervises an autonomous defense and anticipates the post-quantum threat. 🛡️🤖The entrance ticket is higher, but the impact is unprecedented. We are no longer in IT, we are in the management of the life risk of companies. And you, what skill do you consider as the "must-have" of the CISO in 2026? 👇 #CyberSecurity #ArtificialIntelligence #CloudSecurity #DigitalEvolution #FutureWork

Really enjoyed being part of AfriCyber Fest. Thank you to the team for the invitation and for bringing together people genuinely shaping the future of cybersecurity in Nigeria. It was great hearing perspectives from leaders across the ecosystem including WhiteHat.ng, Hamzah Lateef, Justus Iyke Osuji, Adeola Aderonmu, Obiora Awogu and Oluleke Olatunji. A lot of the conversations came back to two important things. Supporting indigenous technology to solve African challenges and growing the next generation of cyber talent. These are the kinds of discussions we need more of if we want to build a stronger and more resilient digital future across Africa. #AfriCyberFest #CyberSecurity #Nigeria #AfricaTech
Session Highlights. Demmy Ibrahim A — Threat Analyser in Action: AI-Assisted Threat Modelling for Secure System Design. A shift in how we think about cybersecurity. “With Vernovi Cyber, we’re rethinking the approach—making security more intelligent, more practical, and built for today’s reality.” Because the reality is clear: AI has rewritten the economics of cybercrime—on both sides of the firewall. Attackers are faster. Defenders must be smarter. “The perimeter is gone.” Identity is the new firewall. And AI is already testing it. A powerful reminder that modern security isn’t static— it evolves, adapts, and anticipates. From awareness → to engineered defense. #AfricaCyberFest2026 #CyberFest2026 #CyberSecurityAfrica #AIinCybersecurity
