Warm-ups don’t have to be boring! Inspired by the new Gladiator movie, this fun and dynamic mobility drill gets your players moving, laughing, and dodging like warriors in an arena. Here’s how it works: 👉 Everyone holds a stick and runs around in one half of the court. 👉 At my command, I call out a position—setters, liberos, middles, or outsides. 👉 The called-out group attacks, swinging their "swords," while everyone else stays rooted, dodging and weaving with their mobility. Instead of static stretches, this warm-up gets players into volleyball-specific shapes as they react and adapt. It’s fast-paced, functional, and just plain fun! The LABELS we use to describe ourself are hurting more than they’re helping. I label myself as a scratch golfer. This label is useful until I shot 80 and question my identity. On the other side, if I find myself 4 under, I start to question if I can keep it up, because a scratch golfer typically shoots even par. See how labels aren’t useful.
