Figma Make, now on your local code → https://figma.bot/4fckTW7 In limited beta starting today, you can visually edit and ship changes by connecting Make to your codebase At Figma, we use our products to design in every way: design layers, prototypes, and now, production code
There it is 👏
What's most interesting here, this is a visual editor on top of production code (akin to webflow), its going to be really interesting if the visual layer edits a designer makes (and therefore the CSS changes) map across to the CSS framework you use in prod, e.g. to tailwind utility classes for example, or if you use SASS in prod it will translate your edits to SASS CSS code. I suspect this will only be surface level CSS edits at best. I can't see it pulling in new JS libraries and frameworks into production because that comes with it own set of problems, namely bundle size bloat.
Connecting design tools directly to production code changes the feedback loop completely. Curious how it handles existing design system tokens and component libraries, that's where the real complexity lives 👏 👏 👏
im sorry but figma make doesnt work at all respecting design systems :/ Claude design works better though
I tried using Figma to build a prototype, I basically ran out of tokens very quickly, purchased more, for a ridiculous price. After those ran out and my prototype was still a mess, I switched to Googles AI studio and built it with mostly free tokens. Figma are pretty much dead in the water if they continue this way.
Who is still using Figma Make though
Take mobile designs into considerations as well.
pra que fazer barulho de funcionalidade beta e nunca lançar nada... aquele copilot de IA ja faz mais de ano
Wait so, can dev give me the code for a website in staging... And then I can make tweaks myself and send back fixed?...
