As we move through mid-2026, here’s a question worth asking: With hybrid cloud environments growing more complex every day, how long can we afford to keep fighting fires with traditional monitoring tools? The answer is clear — we can’t. That’s why I’m excited about the rapid rise of AIOps, especially agentic AI and self-healing systems, which are becoming true game-changers for IT Operations this year. Previously, as Director of IT Enterprise Monitoring and Automation at EchoStar I led the shift toward hybrid observability. Implementing platforms like HPE OpsRamp moved us from reactive alert chasing to proactive issue resolution — the difference in operational efficiency was remarkable. Here’s how OpsRamp applies AIOps in practice: 1) Discovery & Monitoring — Auto-discovers assets and collects metrics, logs, and events in real time. 2) Anomaly Detection — Uses ML to baseline behavior and spot issues early. Intelligent Correlation — Groups related events and cuts noise by 90%+. 3) Root Cause Analysis — AI pinpoints the real cause with topology context. 4) Automated Remediation — Triggers self-healing actions that fix problems before users notice. This flow delivers true self-healing: multi-agent systems that detect, diagnose, and autonomously remediate issues. With this hands-on experience leading AIOps transformations, tool consolidation, and enterprise monitoring modernization, I have helped organizations dramatically reduce alert noise, improve system reliability, and build proactive operations that scale. Pick one high-pain area (like alert noise or recurring infrastructure issues), pilot a focused agentic workflow, and prove the value before scaling enterprise-wide.
