What a day! 🎉 The Texas House of Representatives released its interim charges, outlining the priority issues each committee will study ahead of the next legislative session. One of those charges directly reflects the work of the Addressing the Foster Care to Homelessness Pipeline task force, which I had the privilege of co-chairing alongside David Gray. I could not be more proud. This work is deeply connected to what we see every day at LifeWorks Austin, and it’s incredibly meaningful to see it show up as a priority at the state level. Huge thanks to the City of Austin and Carrie Rogers for pushing this work forward; Daniel Heimpel, Sarah Solon, and Jordan Scott for your support and leadership every step of the way; and to Jim Currier, Dylan Shubitz, MPAff, Kate Moore, Cortney Jones, MSW, and the entire task force for your brilliance! The work continues...
Much needed. Having worked with this population for many years, you hate to see that it is still an ongoing issue. Great to see this prioritized and continuing to adapt as our young people and the world change. ♥️
It's inspiring to see meaningful priorities recognized at a state level. Collaboration really drives impactful change, doesn’t it?
So grateful for the education you’ve given me on this important work!
Liz, congratulations! Taking an issue from task force work to a legislative priority is no small feat. The foster care to homelessness pipeline deserves this spotlight, and so do you. Thank you for your relentless advocacy for our youth.
Thanks to all for their hard work on this critical issue! Let’s keep the momentum going!
Congrats! Thank you for all the vital work you and your team do!
Wow! Let's go!! 🔥🔥
WhooHoo, Courtney Jones!
Congratulations Liz! Thank you to you and the entire Task Force for showing the leadership and strategic focus necessary to ensure this would be a priority for our legislators.
