You have to value yourself, then only people you value you. I'm Andrew. I'm an interior designer, having my own firm now. I've been in the industry for almost 20 years. I knew him through LinkedIn. When I started my LinkedIn profile, right, It was back maybe four or five years ago. Yeah, I started to have a tech line of the no free design. During the pandemic, I saw Edmund movement, so I added him. And then he saw me and then we started to connect each other. All the while I insist that there must be a charges on even a proposal. It's either if I'm getting the jobs in the design build part, if I got the build part, the design fees, I will give a little bit of rebate. Yeah. So that's the how how the market perceived that designers should give free design, but usually I don't.

How do Interior Designers keep up with trends?
Interior designers always seem one step ahead but how do they know what’s next before it hits your Pinterest feed?
Designers actually decode trends. They study how colours, textures, and styles are changing, then translate that into real spaces that make people say “wow.”
Following trends in interior design means:
✔️ Constant creativity
✔️ Understanding people and their needs or habits
✔️ Staying connected with design fairs, creative communities, and global inspiration
If you’ve always had an eye for beautiful spaces and love seeing how style evolves, this is your world waiting to be explored.

🏗️ From Concept to Construction: The Interior Designer’s Invisible Journey
Every stunning interior begins as a vision, a mood board, a sketch, a feeling waiting to take form.
But what most people never see is the journey that turns that vision into a lived experience.
Interior design is more than choosing finishes or colors, it’s a translation of emotion into space.
It’s a constant balance between creativity, functionality, and the realities of construction.
🖊️ It begins with concepts that is understanding the client’s lifestyle, mood, and purpose.
🎨 Then comes the material exploration, lighting balance, and detailing where atmosphere starts to take shape.
🧱 On site, designs meet constraints: measurements, timelines, budgets, and sometimes, improvisation.
Every decision from a switch placement, a wall texture, a lighting tone, all tells part of the story.
As designers, we navigate between imagination and execution to ensuring that what’s built still carries the emotion we first envisioned.
✨ True interior design isn’t just about how a space looks; it’s about how it feels and functions when the construction dust settles.

🎥 Design in Mind | Why Interior Design Matters: A Look Beyond What You See on TV
Interior design is often portrayed as choosing paint colors or furniture — but in reality, it’s so much more than what you see on TV.
This is the first video in my new series, Design in Mind, where I’ll be exploring the real impact of interior design — from creating safe, functional spaces to discussing important topics within the field, including accessibility and universal design.
My goal is to educate those outside the profession, inspire others who may want to pursue it, and advocate for why thoughtful, inclusive design truly matters.
✨ Take a look beyond the surface — and see why interior design makes a lasting impact.

Offering free proposals doesn’t make you generous it makes you undervalue yourself, lack courage, and pull the entire profession down. Shame on you. !
