Shadeed Eleazer tackles what it really means to be an author. He talks about how you shouldn’t get hung up on the numbers and instead focus on teaching your book to others. It’s easy to get caught up in sales, rankings, or chasing bestseller lists, but the real value of your work comes from the impact it has on readers. Writing is about connecting, sharing your wisdom, and leaving a piece of yourself behind for others to take something from. 4 Empowering Reasons Writers Can Sell Their Books Successfully 1. Embrace humility. The thrill of becoming an author can shine brighter when you accept that selling is an ongoing journey. 2. Be realistic. Understand that every author faces challenges. Not everyone will buy your book, but that doesn’t diminish its value. 3. Rise above the competition. Your unique voice matters, even in a crowded market. 4. Take ownership of your success. Recognize that your publisher is a partner, not a sole sales force. What to do? Take charge of marketing your work. Collaborate with an experienced author coach. Leverage diverse promotional channels. If your first sentence doesn’t grab, your story never will. Yesterday I read a piece here on the importance of the first 10 seconds of one's opening speech and I remembered this feedback from my client few years ago. —Hi Marvelous, I think your plot pacing is good, but the opening isn't quite there. As a writer, your opening sentence must be hooking, and exciting to get readers hooked on your book. If your opening sentence is boring but the rest of the book is interesting they won't wait long enough to find out.

The back cover blurb is your book’s first pitch to a reader. It decides whether they buy or walk away. A strong blurb is short. It tells what the book is about in clear, simple language. No long details. No spoilers. It highlights the core value. What will the reader gain? Knowledge, entertainment, inspiration, or a new skill. The best blurbs create curiosity. They make readers feel they must know what happens next. Use confident and active words. Show the book’s unique angle. Make the hook impossible to ignore. Treat your back cover blurb like a sales tool. Because it is. A powerful blurb can turn a browser into a buyer. Every word matters. #books #authortips #writing #publication
