Bridging Educational Silos — A Vision for Connected Student Journeys https://lnkd.in/gexPFpSv We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with leaders across Southern California’s education landscape to explore actionable strategies for secure and ethical data sharing across K-12, community colleges, universities, and pathway organizations. Together we can break down data silos and build the infrastructure needed to better inform and support students’ educational journeys and career aspirations. Nice to see the alignment with California's Cradle-to-Career (C2C) vision too.

Learning can be much more and authentic than the way it is currently enacted in educational institutions - it can be so much more than just memorization and retention. With the use of a more holistic paradigm and new technologies, we can build a system that engenders new principles and creates the new outcomes that society and economy need today and going forward. This paper is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of our global education system, new ways of conceptualizing education based upon systems thinking and new approaches to building distributed education systems based upon web technologies; to rethink education from the ground up and enable real systems-level change. This slide is an except from our full paper found here: https://lnkd.in/e_fkabhG

When we created our group, a survey showed that more than 90% of researchers writing code had no formal training in software engineering. We’re changing that! All researchers at University of Oxford can now access free, high-quality technical training to build the software skills their research depends on. Each term we run - Fundamentals of Software Engineering for Research: 10 half-day sessions covering the essentials every researcher writing code should know. - A wide range of specialist courses All our courses are openly available on our training site: https://lnkd.in/eTvEzTCa Explore upcoming courses on our website: https://lnkd.in/ezTk-QNy If you’re a University of Oxford researcher, join us this November at the Centre for Human Genetics.

College graduates now make up one-third of the long-term unemployed, up from one-fifth a decade ago Go to college, get a great job” is no longer the valid paradigm. And this is putting higher education in a tailspin. You need to credential yourself differently now. College used to be the way to signal competence. That era is over. Today, credentialing means building a portfolio that demonstrates value: GitHub repositories showing what you’ve shipped, a consulting practice proving you solve real problems, a YouTube channel teaching what you know. The act of getting accepted by MIT still matters. The four years spent there increasingly don’t. You’re paying a quarter million dollars for a private university education that increasingly guarantees nothing. The credential that used to open doors is now locking people out. This CODiE Awards recognition validates something we've believed from day one: Special Education administration needs more than incremental improvement. The crisis is real. Districts can't fill positions. Providers are leaving the field. Students wait months for services. The paperwork burden is breaking the system. What earned us finalist status: A platform that tackles the root cause instead of managing symptoms. When you eliminate 90% of paperwork, that's not just efficiency. ✨That's special ed teachers getting home at 5pm instead of 8pm. ✨That's passionate professionals staying in the field instead of burning out. ✨That's students getting services this month instead of next quarter. The complete ecosystem matters. We don't only reduce paperwork and IEP documentation. ✔️We built AI-powered tools for students to practice between sessions. ✔️Real-time dashboards for administrators to monitor programs. ✔️Automated compliance tracking that doesn't require weekend work. ✔️Integration with the systems you already use. We built Streamline for leaders trying to do impossible work with limited resources. Being recognized means the market is ready for fundamental change. #CODiEAwards #AIforEducation #SpecialEducationLeadership #StreamlineSpecialEd #specialeducation #edtech #EdTechInnovation #K12Education
