Sales 3.0 — From Personalization to Precision In my last post, I spoke about how personalization gives purpose to every sales interaction. But as I continue learning and growing in this journey, one thing has become clear — personalization alone isn’t enough without consistency and precision. Today’s buyers are more informed, selective, and time-conscious than ever. So, it’s not just about how well you personalize — it’s about how consistently you deliver value across every touchpoint. Here’s what I’ve found helps turn personalization into real impact: Be data-driven — Use insights from your CRM and tools to understand timing, priorities, and pain points. Build a rhythm — Create structured outreach cadences that balance automation with genuine check-ins. Stay relevant — Keep learning about your prospect’s industry so your outreach always adds value. Reflect and refine — Every conversation is feedback. Review what works, adjust what doesn’t. Technology keeps evolving, and AI will keep shaping how we work — but precision in action and consistency in effort still define success. Because at the end of the day, sales isn’t just about reaching out to more people. It’s about reaching out better, building trust one conversation at a time. Agentic AI is moving sales beyond productivity gains to real revenue impact. In one case, an AI sales agent managed lead scoring, personalized outreach, and follow-up, driving a 6% lift in response rates and a projected $50M in incremental annual revenue. The benefits for pricing and revenue leaders are clear: agentic AI can help to increase pipeline quality, strengthen pricing discipline, reduce discounting, and protect margins. Thanks to my McKinsey Growth, Marketing & Sales colleagues Jay K., Candace Lun Plotkin, Siamak Sarvari, Jennifer Stanley, and Maria Valdivieso, with Doug J. Chung, for this excellent piece in the Harvard Business Review: https://bit.ly/46PZfBf #RevenueGrowth #Pricing #Sales #AgenticAI #McKinseyGMS

One common mistake I see most outbound teams making Treating their TAM as their ICP. In the past, broad targeting worked because outreach volume often trumped precision. By 2025, that’s no longer the case. Today, prospects expect relevance, and competition for attention is fiercer than ever. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗔𝗠 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗖𝗣 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲, ❌ You could deliver the best outbound message. But it has no value if it’s not relevant to your prospect. ❌ You burn SDR hours on accounts that will never convert ❌ You end up with high CAC since most outreach doesn’t create pipeline. Klenty’s AI List Builder uses your company info to learn your ICP criteria, extracts it from your TAM, and builds your list in seconds. It then scores and ranks your accounts so your reps always know who to contact and when. AI List Builder is just one of a team of Klenty Agents working across your outbound process, taking over all non-pipeline activity. Make sure your reps spend their time on pipeline activities, with AI Agents taking over the rest. Key Takeaways from GTM/AI Conversations There’s one insight from my conversations that kept coming up, and it might change how your team thinks about AI in sales. Over the past few weeks, I’ve talked with nearly two dozen GTM leaders and founders to hear firsthand how AI is reshaping GTM strategies and influencing buyer behavior. Here are a few takeaways that stood out to me: 1.) Buyers are coming in with AI in hand. They’re researching solutions, running proofs of concept, and even drafting RFPs before they talk to a rep. 2.) AI is helping teams get smarter about who to engage and when. What I’ve been seeing (and writing about) for months is that teams are moving beyond just ICPs, they’re using AI to track and trigger high-intent signals, or ICMs (Ideal Customer Moments) to prioritize outreach and personalize messaging at exactly the right moment. 3.) Speed and relevance matter more than ever. Teams using AI to respond quickly and contextually are seeing shorter cycles and higher engagement. 4.) Humans still win the nuanced deals. AI helps with personalization, prioritization, and automation, but human judgment is critical for complex negotiations and strategy. 5.) Teams are using AI as strategic wedges. Teams are leveraging AI to uncover new ways into accounts, prioritize conversations, and identify high-value moments where they can add unique insight...turning AI into a lever for engagement rather than just a support tool. A few surprises: 1.) Many mature sales orgs are still early (and behind) in AI adoption. Even seasoned teams are often using AI only for basic tasks like lead scoring or email automation. 2.) Many sales teams still miss a key priority...They aren’t fully understanding how and why their buyers are using AI, and aren’t adjusting their motions to meet them there. Overall, AI isn’t replacing people...it’s amplifying what we do best, making GTM smarter, faster, and more precise. The real differentiator now is understanding how buyers are using AI and using that insight to engage earlier, more strategically, and in ways that set your team apart.
