Designing the Future with Growth Mindset and AI Skills Last week, I had the pleasure of delivering a session at Lebanese University titled “Design Your Future with Growth Mindset and AI Skills.” It was inspiring to witness how students’ mindsets evolved — from viewing AI as a distant or intimidating topic to realizing that it’s a powerful ally they can understand, guide, and use creatively in their future careers. Throughout the session, we explored how curiosity, adaptability, and continuous learning are the true foundations of success in the AI era. Once students saw how AI tools can act as their junior collaborators rather than replacements, their confidence and motivation grew tremendously. “Your mindset defines how far your skills can take you.” A heartfelt thank-you to Ferial Khaddage PhD for the invitation and for fostering such a forward-thinking environment for students. #AI #GrowthMindset #LebaneseUniversity #DigitalTransformation #CareerDevelopment

AI is the New Literacy. By the end of 2025, you’re either fluent in AI — or functionally illiterate. That might sound extreme, but look around: AI isn’t “the future” anymore — it’s the invisible infrastructure behind every smart decision, product, and process. The new professional divide isn’t age, degree, or title — it’s AI fluency. Here’s what that means: - Fluency beats familiarity. Knowing what AI is won’t matter — knowing how to apply it will. - Workflow over wow factor. The best tools aren’t the flashiest; they’re the ones that quietly save hours and sharpen judgment. - AI amplifies output. The difference between good and great work now depends on how intelligently you use these systems. - This is the new literacy gap. Just as reading and writing defined past centuries, AI literacy will define the next one — especially across Africa’s emerging industries. - The winners. Those who combine human intuition with machine precision — creators, founders, educators, analysts, and dreamers. That’s the power of AI, it’s transforming the way we create, communicate, and learn. And yet, many people still say “there’s no need to learn AI.” Let’s be honest — they’re lying to you. The world is changing fast, and those who don’t learn will simply be left behind. That’s why I believe AI education must begin at the foundational level. When children understand how AI works, not just as users but as creators, they develop the mindset needed for the future: curiosity, creativity, content verification, and critical thinking. With this vision, my team and I started “3rd Revolution”, a project dedicated to transforming education in Pakistan through AI integration. 📚What I'm thinking about this week: How AI is Shaping Global Development🌍 AI is transforming global development, as highlighted in a recent The Economist article, and there is immense potential in financial inclusion, agriculture, and education, three areas I'm passionate about. From expanding access to banking for underserved communities, to improving food security and climate resiliency, and increasing access to resources in education, AI is driving meaningful change in how we address global challenges. For me, AI is a tool I use and upskill in regularly, both at the The World Bank and in the university classroom to enhance my projects and teaching. As an educator teaching international economics and finance here in Spain, I’m embracing AI to prepare students for the real-world applications they’ll need in their careers. Why don’t we learn sovereignty in school? This semester, students at the Oulu Business School, University of Oulu are doing exactly that - by studying Talent3X, a decentralized coordination system for proof of contribution in the age of AI, as part of the Strategic Marketing Management course led by Teck Ming (Terence) Tan. They’re exploring how Talent3X introduces a new way for individuals to gain full control over their data and reputation - the foundation of digital sovereignty. This matters because, as AI scales and takes on more of what we do, the role of humans evolves - from performing tasks to defining direction and purpose. Our creativity, judgment, and values guide intelligent systems, and through Talent3X, proof of contribution makes that collaboration visible and verifiable. The future of education and work isn’t only about what we learn, but how we apply it - and who owns the proof that we did.
