Dr. Denise Turley’s Post

It is not the list of technologies on your resume that will get you the job. It’s the problems you’ve actually solved. If you’re applying for AI or technology roles right now, something I pay a lot of attention to in interviews is how well you can tell the story of your work. The candidates who stand out can walk through their journey and approach in a clear, grounded way. They understand: -The business problem -The technical constraints -The tradeoffs made And why a particular solution actually made sense Don’t just list technologies. Explain the problem you solved. If you’re preparing for interviews, it may be worth thinking about how you describe your work in terms of outcomes, not just implementation. Good luck!

Dont be afraid to share where you failed, what you learned, and how you fixed it. Resiliency drives success. Some of my best leasons came from my failures.

Dr. Denise Turley I was taught to list all accomplishments on resumes as: Verb -> Object -> Measurement ... as in... Increased -> Email Response Rates -> By 24% in six months by introducing predictive models. I found it to be pretty helpful.

Unfortunately most employers prioritize skills and industry experience over values/cultural fit, ability to solve problems, and the ability to learn quickly and make good decisions.
