It's been exactly one year since I was laid off by LinkedIn, and today another LinkedIn layoff was announced. For those impacted, I can report from outside: the tech world's need for human beings may be shrinking, the political news may be horrible, but in the real world outside of tech and AI there's a lot of great stuff going on. Best wishes to all who unexpectedly find themselves on a new path today!
Curious about the great stuff, and how can I be in it?
I started learning Android with you more than 8 years ago. Thank you for all the tutorials you've created over these years. I just wanted to express my gratitude and wish you success. 🌹🌹🌹🌹
We learnt a lot from you sir. Your value is not measured by employability. It is measured by how much you contributed to knowledge sharing.
This is really sad to hear. It’s hard to understand how the cost of living keeps getting higher, yet it feels harder than ever for people to make a stable living. You never used to hear about layoffs this constantly. When you’re the person your family depends on, the world can feel pretty scary sometimes
One thing this market has exposed quite brutally is how dangerous it can be when people start believing even very large companies automatically equal long-term security. A lot of extremely capable people have discovered that employability and employer stability are not always the same thing anymore. Wishing the people impacted the best with whatever comes next.
