Northrop Grumman said it had delivered the 1,500th centre fuselage for the F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter from its Integrated Assembly Line in Palmdale, California. The company described the milestone as a result of factory automation and advanced manufacturing technologies applied with speed and precision. The Integrated Assembly Line produces one centre fuselage every 30 hours and manufactures centre fuselages for all three F-35 variants on a single production line. Northrop Grumman said the use of advanced manufacturing allows seamless production across the aircraft variants. The company said augmented reality and virtual reality tools used on the line reduced centre fuselage assembly time by 35 percent. It also reported a 20 percent reduction in the technician learning curve. ⚡ 10s AM News ⚡ HII successfully integrated 3D-printed metal components into the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier and Virginia-class submarines. This transition from proof-of-concept to warfighting capability enables the Navy to bypass traditional casting lead times of 40 weeks. Data shows repair costs for specific assemblies plummeted from $316,000 to just $131 through additive solutions. This shift secures a decentralized, on-demand supply chain for critical fleet maintenance. 🚢⚓🛠️ #AM #Navy #Defense #3DPrinting #Engineering #AMNews #WeeklyVentures

Chinese state media has responded sharply to comments by Anduril Industries founder Palmer Luckey about China’s J-35 stealth fighter, turning the exchange into a broader critique of U.S. defense technology and the F-35 program. The remarks made at the Singapore Airshow triggered a coordinated reaction from outlets such as Global Times, and what this episode reveals about information warfare, aerospace rivalry, and competing narratives around next-generation combat aircraft. https://lnkd.in/dPUMfuqa

This helmet-mounted sight lets AH-64 Apache crews slave the 30 mm M230 chain gun to their head movement, so the gun points wherever they look within its firing envelope, dramatically improving reaction time and making targeting far more intuitive. It is an early, combat-proven step toward cybernetic human–machine teaming, allowing pilots and gunners to engage threats almost as quickly as they can see and designate them. #military #defense #defence #aerospace #aviation #aircraft #aircrafts #airplane #airplanes #aviationlovers #militaryaviation #militaryaircraft #fighterjet #engineering #technology #militarytechnology #defensetechnology #defenseinnovation #defenseindustry #airforce #pilots #aviationtech #MilitaryAviation #warfare #DefenseTech #FighterJets #Tactical #helicopter #A64 #Apache

The "clipped wing" modification on the Supermarine Spitfire, introduced from the Mk V onward, shortened the wingspan by replacing elliptical tips with squared-off fairings to boost roll rates at low-to-medium altitudes. This enhanced maneuverability in turning dogfights against the agile Fw 190, reduced drag for better speed (up to 5 mph faster at 10,000 ft) and acceleration, and improved downward visibility for spotting ground targets. However, it traded off high-altitude performance, including a lower service ceiling and slightly reduced climb rate, prioritizing low-level combat and ground-attack roles later in WWII. #military #defense #defence #aerospace #aviation #aircraft #aircrafts #airplane #airplanes #aviationlovers #militaryaviation #militaryaircraft #fighterjet #engineering #technology #militarytechnology #defensetechnology #defenseinnovation #defenseindustry #airforce #pilots #aviationtech #MilitaryAviation #warfare #DefenseTech #FighterJets #Tactical #Supermarine #Sptifire #WWII

Ever wonder why the F-22 Raptor's canopy glows gold? The F-22's canopy is an engineering marvel, two sheets of polycarbonate fused together through autoclave bonding and drape-formed over a canopy blank. What gives it that distinctive golden appearance? A microscopically thin layer of indium-tin-oxide (ITO) coating. This isn't merely for aesthetics; it's a critical stealth technology. The ITO creates an electromagnetic Faraday cage, allowing radar waves to flow off the surface or be dampened rather than reflect back to enemy systems. The result: the aircraft appears as a smooth, seamless object to radar detection. Beyond stealth, the coating also protects pilots from ultraviolet radiation and isolates sensitive avionics from external electromagnetic threats. In aviation, form truly follows function, and that golden tint is one of the most elegant examples of modern military engineering. #military #defense #defence #aerospace #aviation #aircraft #aircrafts #airplane #airplanes #aviationlovers #militaryaviation #militaryaircraft #fighterjet #engineering #technology #militarytechnology #defensetechnology #defenseinnovation #defenseindustry #airforce #pilots #aviationtech #MilitaryAviation #warfare #DefenseTech #FighterJets #Tactical #stealth #F22 #Raptor #USA

India clears a ₹3.25 lakh crore deal to acquire 114 Rafale fighter jets from France. Around 80% of the aircraft will be manufactured in India. 🇮🇳 India signed a ₹63,000 crore deal with France in April 2025 for 26 Rafale-Marine jets. These jets can operate from aircraft carriers and are built for naval missions. The deal includes training, weapons, simulators, and long-term support. #Rafale-Ms will be deployed on #INSVikrant and #INSVikramaditya. Dassault Rafale's advantages include its omnirole capability (performing multiple missions in one sortie), exceptional agility with delta-canard design, advanced SPECTRA electronic warfare, powerful sensor fusion for data management, high serviceability (around 90%), and lower maintenance footprint compared to some rivals, offering a versatile, reliable, and cost-effective multi-mission fighter. #India #GlobalPower #ResearchTechnology #Design #Airforce #Navy ##MakeInIndia #linkedin #connection #AatmanirbharBharat #Defencetech #vikshitbharat #DefenceManufacturing #DefenceExports #MakeInIndia #Aerospace #IndiaGrowth ##NationFirst ##security #Engineering #AdityaTripathi #community
