Congratulations to one of my favorite supply chain celebrities… Lori Ann LaRocco! Her book is a must read for supply chain folks: Trade War: Containers Don’t Lie. I’ll miss seeing her on CNBC but am excited to see her plans for the future. More on this in the upcoming edition of the Supply Chained newsletter which is due out on Wednesday. ~Mr. Supply Chain® #AlwaysBeLearning #SupplyChain #ContainersDontLie

TRADE ALERT- I will be joining the world of trade in a different capacity now and I’m so delighted to share. After 26 amazing years I am leaving CNBC to expand my contribution to the supply chain. I will now have my own consultancy firm, LaRocco Consulting where I will work with clients on assessing the geopolitical turmoil, and how it will impact their supply chain using trade data as well as work with private equity firms, and hedge funds to diving in on company supply chain data and my threading of the supply chain needle on geopolitical events. I am a firm believer that the agnostic trade data is actionable and can provide a unique window of up to 3 to 6 months of visibility into a company’s supply chain. I also have my upcoming Containers Don't Lie Symposium which has the best of the best participating. Is under Chatham house rules so you know you will get the actionable data and information needed to grow your business. My Substack Lori Ann LaRocco debuts tomorrow at 7 AM and I will have Breaking News in that article so please subscribe! And, of course you will find me gCaptain where I have been writing about the war. Over these last 26 years, I covered so many amazing and historical stories. l started as Maria Bartiromo’s segment producer on Market Week, the first prime time show on CNBC. I then booked and produced million dollar events for Squawk Box. I responded to contacts as they were in buildings next to the Twin Towers on 9/11 describing to me what they saw. As senior editor of guests I broke and booked guests for Breaking News, elections, the Baron Investor Conference, and COVID. The Network enabled me to take on an additional role as the Global supply chain reporter, and I took that full by the horns! I created and developed the CNBC Supply Chain Heat Map, which helped the world of trade, be more accountable and keep shippers up to speed. I broke stories on the IEEPA tariffs, Red Sea and helped create documentaries that took my team and I to places like Panama where we were the first television journalist ever to set foot in one of the villages that will be relocated for the Rio dam project. One of the things I am most proud of is my work being a disability advocate at the Network. I was the co-lead for the MyAbilities’s group and I met such amazing individuals and companies who employ individuals with disabilities at a fair wage. I also started and led the network’s coverage two years ago in the broadcasting of the monthly jobs report by race, gender and disability. I hope that continues. Everybody matters! I have a phrase that I used at the Network, which was “celebrate yourself”. This is something we need to remind ourselves every day. When I cleaned out my desk, I found some really fun jewels and I thought you would get a kick out of some of them here you go! Excited to share this new chapter in my life cheers to everyone! #cnbc #trade #logistics #logisticsmanagement #maritimenews #businessnews

Well deserved. Lori Ann LaRocco has done an incredible job bringing real supply chain dynamics into the mainstream in a way that actually resonates beyond the industry. “Containers don’t lie” is such a simple but powerful lens for understanding what’s really happening beneath the headlines. Excited to see what she does next!

Real supply chain stories live in the data nobody reads. Glad someone finally wrote the book that connects both, Daniel.

Congrats! Let me know if there is ever an opportunity to work together.

Turning deep industry insight into actionable impact through your own platform is a powerful next step that will shape how supply chain decisions are made. Daniel Stanton, DBA
