🚀 Day 5 — Becoming Cloud Ready 📌 Understanding AWS Fundamentals Today’s learning took me deeper into AWS — Amazon Web Services, the world’s leading cloud platform. And the biggest lesson? Cloud isn’t magic — it’s architecture, strategy, and efficiency. Here’s my simple breakdown of AWS fundamentals 👇 ✅ Global Infrastructure AWS runs through Regions, Availability Zones, and Edge Locations — giving businesses reliability and speed anywhere in the world. ✅ Core Cloud Concepts Compute (EC2, Lambda) — where applications run Storage (S3, EBS) — where data lives Networking (VPC) — how resources connect securely Databases (RDS, DynamoDB) — where structured & fast data is managed ✅ Shared Responsibility Model Security is a team effort: AWS secures the cloud We secure what we run in the cloud ✅ Scalability & Pay-As-You-Go Cloud saves money and adapts to demand — from startups to enterprise scale. 🌥️ Cloud isn’t about tools — it’s about mindset. Today proved that understanding the foundation matters more than rushing through services. I don't rush — I master. #100DaysChallenge #NSPPD #CloudJourney #AWS #StreamsOfJoy #LearningInPublic #DigitalWitch #GodOfTheEleventhHour #Help #DevOps #CloudSecurity #BecomingCloudReady #Day5

🚀 What is Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service)? Amazon S3 is one of the core services offered by AWS (Amazon Web Services) that provides object storage through a web interface. It’s designed to store and retrieve any amount of data, anytime, from anywhere — making it a backbone for cloud storage. 🧠 How it Works: Data is stored as objects (files) inside buckets (containers). Each object has a unique key (name) and metadata. You can upload, retrieve, or delete data using the AWS console, SDKs, or APIs. 💡 Key Features: Scalability: Automatically scales to store unlimited data. Durability: 99.999999999% (11 nines) durability — your data is safe. Availability: Highly available and fault-tolerant. Security: Integration with IAM, encryption, and access control policies. Cost-effective: Pay only for what you use (storage, requests, and data transfer). 📦 Use Cases: Hosting static websites Backup and disaster recovery Data lake for analytics Storing media files, logs, and documents Integration with services like Lambda, EC2, RDS, and CloudFront 💬 Example: When you upload an image to your website or app and store it in the cloud, there’s a high chance it’s sitting safely in an S3 bucket! #AWS #CloudComputing #AmazonS3 #DevOps #CloudStorage #AWSCommunity #BackendDevelopment

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 The global Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage on October 20 reminded us of something Data & Analytics teams know well but that often goes unnoticed. 💡 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑑 𝑖𝑠𝑛’𝑡 𝑖𝑛𝑓𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑐𝑎𝑛’𝑡 𝑏𝑒 𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑒𝑑. In my case, we work with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow on EC2, and Amazon S3, which were not directly affected. Still, this event shows how deeply dependent we’ve become on cloud services and the importance of being ready for the unlikely. Disaster Recovery models are often seen as technical tasks, but in reality, they are part of the DNA of business continuity. Hopefully, we never need to use them, but they must exist, up to date and tested. Because continuity is not just about technology; it’s about trust, preparation, and leadership. #DataReliability #Cloud #AWSOutage #Leadership #DataEngineering #Resilience #Snowflake #DBT #Airflow #S3 #DataManagement https://lnkd.in/e6hHyEEp

✨Outage-Proof Systems: Syncing AWS S3 and Google Cloud Storage for Multi-Cloud Resilience It's like having a backup generator for your house 🏠 if one cloud provider goes down (hello, AWS outage), your systems continue to run smoothly on another. What is Multi-Cloud? Multi-cloud means spreading your data and services across multiple cloud providers. Why are engineering teams embracing it? 🧑💻 Higher reliability: If AWS experiences an outage, GCP can keep your apps running and maintain a copy of your data. 📜 More flexibility: Each provider has unique strengths 🦾 AWS excels in compute, while GCP shines in data and AI. 💰 Cost savings: Pricing varies across platforms, so multi-cloud lets you optimize for performance and budget. What is GCP? Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is Google's suite of cloud computing services and products. Similar to AWS, GCP has a wide range of services including computing power, storage, databases, machine learning, and networking tools. It's one of the major cloud providers in the market alongside AWS and Microsoft Azure! How I Did It Here’s the process I followed to sync data between AWS and GCP: 1. Store data in an Amazon S3 bucket 2. Set up your Google Cloud Platform (GCP) 3. Configure a Storage Transfer Service from AWS to GCP 4. Create a custom IAM role to grant GCP access to AWS 5. Transfer your objects from S3 to GCS If you're building cloud-native systems, multi-cloud isn't just a buzzword—it's a survival strategy. Let me know if you'd like to see a demo or walk through the setup! 🔥 Day 63 of My #100DaysOfDevOps Challenge! Today’s focus: Amazon Web Services (AWS) – Free Tier Account Setup ☁️ 🔹 Explored the process of creating an AWS Free Tier account, which allows hands-on access to cloud computing services for practice and learning. The setup involves: Email Address: Required for account registration and verification. Credit/Debit Card: Used for identity verification; no charges occur if usage remains within free tier limits. ✅ Eligibility for AWS Free Tier: 1️⃣ New AWS Customers: Only first-time users can avail the Free Tier benefits. 2️⃣ Limited Duration: Most services remain free for 12 months after signup; some stay free indefinitely. 3️⃣ Usage Limits: Resources are free up to specified limits (e.g., EC2 up to 750 hours/month, S3 up to 5 GB). 4️⃣ Service-Specific Rules: Each AWS service has distinct limits and features in the Free Tier. This step marks the foundation for hands-on AWS practice—a crucial skill for modern DevOps professionals aiming to deploy, scale, and automate efficiently in the cloud. 🚀 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dFJzm2S2 📌 GeeksforGeeks #skillupwithgfg #nationskillup #AWS #CloudComputing #DevOps
