Chelsea Krost’s Post

10 years without my Poppy Gil 🤍 He was the quiet, strong type. Mr. Brooklyn, body builder strong, but even stronger in spirit. He did not say much, but when he did, it mattered. His words carried weight, wisdom, and depth you could feel. He was more than a grandfather. He was a second father to me. Picking me up from school, taking me to ballet, sitting poolside, giving me a “10” every time I asked him to score my dives, even when I definitely did not earn it. When I started Teen Talk Live, and later The Chelsea Krost Show, Poppy Gil and my Grandma Elaine were always there. Front row. Smiling. Radiating love and acceptance. Never judgment. This photo is from 2013, when he flew from Florida to New York to watch me tape an episode live. He was already battling melanoma, and still nothing would stop him from showing up. That was who he was. Steady. Selfless. Unshakable. I truly cannot remember him ever saying a bad word about anyone. He just wanted to help. He just wanted to be kind. He was the definition of strength. My heart still aches knowing I cannot call him, hear his voice, ask his advice, or watch him with my children. But I choose to believe life is not forever, and that is why we make the most of it. I also choose to believe in the little signs he sends from above. I may not see him, but I feel him. Always. Forever grateful for the lessons, the wisdom, and most of all, the love you gave me. I carry you with me every day, Poppy 🤍 #FamilyLove #LegacyOfLove #GratefulHeart #NeverForgotten #ShowUpForLove
