A member of CAG’s Airport Operations Technology & Corporate IT team, Galen specialises in IT infrastructure and communications systems, managing CAG’s enterprise network as well as the broader airport-wide network. This is no easy feat – Galen says, “Changi Airport is the gateway to Singapore and an international icon, so there are considerable expectations from our stakeholders. We have to build and manage our network infrastructure to meet their needs, while ensuring resiliency, reliability and cyber-security.” To ensure he is able to do this job well, Galen actively seeks ideas and opinions from his colleagues and peers – “It’s not as scary as you think! It just gives me different views of a situation, and helps me think of more innovative solutions.” He adds, “Sometimes, we may think we already know a lot about network infrastructure, which leads us to stick to what is safe and familiar.
