Earlier this month, our partners at Esri highlighted new SAR analytic capabilities during their plenary—showcasing workflows powered by Capella's SAR dataset. Advanced sensors like synthetic aperture radar are reshaping Earth observation, and Esri's ArcGIS continues to make complex imagery more accessible, analyzable, and operationally relevant. Huge shoutout to Sam Jaeger, solution engineer at Esri, for presenting these powerful new capabilities and helping global users unlock greater value from SAR. Geospatial World Forum (GWF) 2026 is now almost two months away. Over the past decade, GWF has become one of the key global meeting points for the geospatial community, bringing together policy makers, technology leaders, public authorities, and industry experts to discuss how geospatial intelligence is shaping decision-making worldwide. The 2026 edition will focus on a timely theme: Sovereignty, Economy & Society, highlighting how geospatial data and infrastructure are increasingly central to governance, resilience, and innovation. As an Institutional Partner, EAASI will once again be present at GWF to represent the perspective of the European crewed aerial surveying industry, and to contribute to the global conversation on how airborne data, advanced sensors, and modern processing workflows support real-world applications across sectors. We look forward to connecting with the international geospatial community in Amsterdam. 27 April – 1 May 2026 Amsterdam, The Netherlands

The combination of geospatial data technology and satellite imagery is playing an important part of our lives today and will even more in the future. Last Wednesday we had an enlightening and stimulating conversation with Roser Roca, Managing Director and CEO of Airbus Geotech, about the far-reaching scope of the technology and its role in how data, resources, and access will be managed going forward. This is a conversation you absolutely need to hear! Listen to it at: https://lnkd.in/epyftEGr And you should check our archive at: https://lnkd.in/dE2JFuC to listen to programs of interest that you may have missed.

Frontier model vision capabilities are sufficient for most Earth observation tasking, iterative output refinement through multi-modal multi-agent enable these models to generalize their understanding of satellite imagery. In addition these models also carry capabilities in tool use, geo-embeddings, reasoning and ever more innovations that are accompanied at every evolution. Below was a case study by Mistral from last year where their internal model was able to classify satellite imagery! Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dNADbgCC

The Future of Ultra-High-Resolution Satellite Imagery Management Organizations are gaining a new perspective on the way they understand, analyze, and manage the earth with ultra high resolution (UHR) satellite imagery. Because UHR imagery can now be collected at resolutions near to sub-30 cm per pixel and are generally can be resampled at 15 cm, satellite imagery produces an extraordinary amount of detail and can be used for a variety of applications, from defense and intelligence, to urban planning and environmental monitoring, to commercial mapping. https://lnkd.in/gE8DYa-v

Geo Week 2026: Key Takeaways from the Floor Last week, Joe Douglas and Mike Steensen represented E38 Survey Solutions at Geo Week, connecting with partners, customers, and manufacturers across the geospatial industry. A few clear trends stood out: 🔹 Handheld scanners were everywhere. Compared to last year, significantly more vendors showcased handheld solutions. The category is gaining serious momentum. 🔹 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) took center stage. It appeared in multiple technical sessions and breakout discussions, signaling growing interest in next-generation reality capture workflows. 🔹 RTK networks and positioning remain a major focus. Conversations across the ecosystem reinforced how critical coverage, cost-effectiveness, and accuracy are to field operations. Great conversations. Valuable insights. We’re excited about where the industry is headed in 2026. #GeoWeek #E38SurveySolutions #Surveying #Geospatial #RTK #3DScanning #GNSS #RealityCapture

Many field professionals still rely on GPS without realising how much the technology has advanced. Modern GNSS combines multiple satellite constellations, delivering stronger signals, improved reliability and higher accuracy. These advances mean subject matter experts can now collect spatial data that was previously achievable only by surveyors. At VicBioCon 2026 on 18 February, hear from Shreyas Sirdeshmukh (15:00–15:15) and SAMUEL NEWTON (15:15–15:30). Join the session at VicBioCon2026 to learn what GNSS can now do for your field work. #GNSS #GPS #FieldTechnology #SpatialData #EnvironmentalMonitoring #VicBioCon #DataQuality #4DGlobal #RapidMap
