Replace “I” with “we” and see how trust grows within your organization. I listened to a leader of a well known organization, struggling with trust issues, use “I” so many times, I started counting the use in my head. It was clear why the trust issues existed. What started as a pilot of 20 participants, a few volunteer mentors, and an idea to develop future EMS leaders is now Mentorship Match, a component of the AAA EMS Next program 🚑 that reaches professionals across 15+ states, logging hundreds of mentoring interactions, sparking confidence, and creating tangible leadership growth.
