Software engineer pays $10k for coding job

This title was summarized by AI from the post below.

Ask almost any software engineer and they'll tell you: It's a lot harder to get a coding job now than a few years ago. Business Insider spoke with two engineers who offered $10,000 to anyone who'd help them secure a six-figure coding job."I'll pay someone $10k if they find me a 6 figure software developer role," Argenis De La Rosa first posted on LinkedIn. De La Rosa told BI he had the idea one morning as a "Hail Mary." We are observing this trend as well. With the rapid advancement of AI, we are now able to build highly useful and efficient tools for our clients that were previously time-consuming or came with the high cost. While skilled developers remain essential, we see a clear shift where companies are increasingly relying on partners to deliver more cost-effective and AI-driven solutions that accelerate outcomes.

Business Insider I accepted the challenge from both of these guys. Neither of them followed through. “Ask almost any software engineer and they'll tell you: It's a lot harder to get a coding job now than a few years ago.” Argenis was an intern a few years ago. Different ballgame. 2025 YTD has had fewer layoffs and more jobs in tech than 2024 or 2023. The fearmongering gets eyes but it’s ignorant of how tech has been for decades.

Money-driven engineers are no engineers. Real ones care more about the impact they'll be making, and writing a piece of code that fulfills them.

When I was in college, Computer Science and Computer Engineering degrees were the most in demand degrees for recruiters, and many would get a job during campus recruitment without any prior experience. Things have changed now and so we need to adjust with time.
