Financial professionals, behavioral finance expert Preet Banerjee shares an approach to help clients better visualize retirement and support more productive conversations.

Please be aware, my experience with this company has been extremely frustrating. I have a retirement annuity with them that was opened in 2002. I am now trying to get MY money. I have twice sent the request letter they required and twice received confirmation they received it. Each time I was told I would hear something within in 3-5 business days. I called again and again they requested the liquidation letter. I reminded them they have it and she confirmed they did. Once again I was told 3-5 business days. They keep telling me there is only an 800# to call, no one else I can talk to, I asked if someone would call me back with a status and her response was “our back office doesn’t make out going calls.” I am so frustrated. Many companies offer annuities don’t choose this one if you are looking for customer service.

You failed again Brighthouse Financial. You wanted to make it right. I emailed you as instructed above and you were kind enough to call me and told me you mailed documents to me on September 11th as of September 23rd I have received nothing! No one has sent anything. This is the 4th lie your company has told me. Every time I call I am told 3-5 business days I will hear from someone. Still can’t get my OWN money. My advice to anyone looking for financial services is to not use this company.
