It’s easy to get buried in the tactical day-to-day, but hearing from Arsham Ghahramani, PhD, JJ Tang, and Rishi Nayyar on Scaling in the Age of AI was a good recalibration for me. (Also great to see more grassroots tech events in Toronto—shoutout to Radical Ventures and Rootly for hosting!) In particular, hearing Arsham reflect on building Ribbon AI-first made me realize how far our CS team has come in the two months since I joined (which may have taken six months or more previously). The best part? There's much more to come; as we like to say, our greatest customer outcomes are still ahead of us. Startups have always moved fast, but with AI as a force multiplier, the pace is faster than ever. It’s no longer just about the speed of execution. It’s now also about the massive scale of impact one person can achieve.

Building something is easy. Building something people actually care about? That's where the work begins. 💛 Our very own Thalis Laspias, headed back to Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences for the annual Startup Lab by #ADandPRLab. The message to the next generation of builders was simple: Assume less. Test more. Through the keynotes and open discussion, we explored how to sharpen an idea before making it bigger. In a world where AI can build almost anything, the real skill is judgment: knowing what is actually worth building. Last month, I coorganized Seattle Startup Summit where we hosted a Startup Demo track with early stage AI startups presenting their products to the attendees and judges. One of my favorites, Oumi, the project that makes LLM fine tuning accessible to the rest of us, won the 1st prize. 9.2 stars on GitHub, they recently launch their platform, check it out. Also, NYT's recently turned to them to fact-check Google’s AI Overviews!
