Massive deal for #AMD. Multi-year strategic partnership w/ OpenAI whereby AMD will supply up to 6GW of GPU capacity to power OpenAI’s next-generation AI infrastructure. The first deployment is slated for 1 GW of AMD’s upcoming Instinct MI450 GPUs in the second half of 2026. I think the deal is worth >$10B in rev per year, so a 33%+ boost to 25e revs. Plus, AMD has issued warrants to OpenAI for up to 160 million shares (roughly ~10 % of AMD, depending on share count), contingent on certain deployment and share-price milestones. In other words... 1) AMD -- long the laggard in AI GPUs -- is now supplying a bunch of AI GPUs to the world’s top AI company 2) AMD just boosted its revenue outlook by 30%+ 3) OpenAI is probably investing in AMD, too What more could you want? The sleeping giant in AI chips AMD has finally woken up. And it has a lot of catching up to do.

🚀 AMD x OpenAI: A New Era in AI Computing AMD and OpenAI have announced a major partnership, marking one of the biggest collaborations in AI hardware history 🤝. OpenAI will deploy 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct GPUs (high-performance chips used to train and run AI models), starting with the MI450 series in late 2026 ⚙️. As part of the deal, OpenAI can acquire up to 10% of AMD through a warrant for 160 million shares at one cent each 💰. Vesting depends on deployment milestones (how much GPU capacity OpenAI actually uses) and stock performance 📈. This multi-billion-dollar agreement could bring AMD over $100 billion in revenue across four years. The move directly challenges Nvidia’s dominance especially after OpenAI’s $100B deal with them just two weeks prior. With this, OpenAI is diversifying its AI infrastructure (reducing reliance on a single chip supplier) ⚡. Samsung is reportedly set to supply HBM4 memory for AMD’s upcoming MI450 AI GPUs as part of a multi-billion-dollar deal with OpenAI, marking a major shift in the AI chip landscape. This positions Samsung to challenge SK hynix’s dominance in the high-bandwidth memory market, especially as AMD ramps up its Instinct GPU deployments for OpenAI’s next-gen infrastructure. The partnership also strengthens Samsung’s ties with OpenAI and signals intensifying competition between the AMD–Samsung and NVIDIA–SK hynix alliances. #Samsung #TechGiants #ChipMaker #Foundry #SamsungFoundry #AMD #OpenAI #AIStartups #Chips #MemoryChips #Semiconductors #HBM4 #AIInfrastructure #SemiconductorStrategy #TechPartnership #MemoryInnovation #NVIDIA #FutureOfAI #SemiconductorIndustry #TechnologyNews https://lnkd.in/g2ReXJFd

Plot twist: OpenAI just signed up AMD for multi‑gigawatt GPUs. Here's what nobody's talking about: → Fortune says up to 6 GW over several years, but the first step is 1 GW of Instinct MI450s, planned for H2 2026. Big headline, slow ramp. → Reduces Nvidia dependence on paper. Reality check: CUDA ecosystem and model porting to AMD (ROCm) will need heavy performance tuning and tooling work. → Not gonna lie, this surprised me. The reported equity/financial option signals a long game with AMD, but market rally may be pricing strategy more than immediate capacity. Game changer or hype? 👇 #OpenAI #AMD #Nvidia #AIInfrastructure #MI450

AMD Stock Rockets on OpenAI Deal, A Bold Bid to Challenge Nvidia’s AI Supremacy AMD’s shares surged when news broke that OpenAI signed a blockbuster multi-year deal with the chipmaker. The agreement will see AMD supplying Instinct MI450 GPUs, totaling 6 gigawatts of compute capacity, while also granting OpenAI an option to acquire up to 160 million AMD shares at just $0.01 per share under ambitious milestones. Investors see this as a potential turning point. For years, Nvidia has dominated AI training and inference markets; now AMD is being ushered into the spotlight with OpenAI’s backing. However, challenges remain. While the hardware deal is massive, AMD must contend with its software ecosystem, particularly the ROCm stack, which still trails CUDA in maturity and adoption. This deal isn’t just about chips. It’s about influence in the future AI infrastructure wars, and AMD is making its move. #TOAINews2025 #AMD #OpenAI #AIChips #Nvidia #Semiconductors #TechStocks #GPUWars #AIInfrastructure

AMD has signed a multi-year AI chip supply deal with OpenAI, projected to generate tens of billions in annual revenue and giving OpenAI the option to acquire up to 10% of AMD. The agreement involves deploying hundreds of thousands of AMD GPUs, totaling six gigawatts, starting in late 2026. OpenAI will also build a one-gigawatt facility using AMD’s upcoming MI450 chips next year, with revenue recognition beginning then. AMD expects over $100 billion in new revenue over four years from OpenAI and related customers. As part of the deal, OpenAI can purchase up to 160 million AMD shares for $0.01 each, vesting based on performance milestones. The partnership positions AMD as a strong rival to Nvidia and strengthens OpenAI’s AI infrastructure capacity globally.
