#VcadStandalone now includes #Federation With this new functionality, users can create and manage federated models directly inside Vcad Standalone, combining multiple #3D models in a single coordinated environment. The new Federation interface allows users to add different models, select the active model in the viewer and manage its alignment through position, move and rotation controls. This makes it easier to work with complex BIM projects, compare different disciplines or model versions, and prepare a coordinated 3D environment for data analysis and visualization. Federations were already part of #VcadforACC, where they introduced more flexibility in model coordination, including the ability to connect models across different file types, select model versions and manage views or phases. With this update, the same federation workflow is now available also in Vcad Standalone, extending model coordination capabilities to users working outside the #AutodeskConstructionCloud environment. ��� The fundamental problem with most CAD and BIM models for condition assessment is that they represent design intent, not current condition. The older an asset gets, the wider that gap becomes, and traditional inspection methods have never been fast or structured enough to close it. For years, inspection data has been the weak link in AEC workflows. Design information is digital, precise, and structured, but condition data gets captured slowly, manually, and sporadically. By the time a defect is found, it has usually progressed well beyond its earliest detectable stage and become significantly more expensive to fix. Drone surveys now produce point clouds, orthomosaics, and 3D photogrammetric models that feed directly into CAD and BIM environments, turning a static design model into a living digital twin that reflects actual, current conditions across the asset lifecycle. In a well-integrated workflow, this plays out across four stages: a georeferenced baseline is established across the entire structure, then periodic flights track new defects and quantify deterioration rates over time. AI-powered defect detection maps issues to their precise locations on the model, and the result is a continuously updated record that supports maintenance planning, regulatory compliance, and capital investment decisions.
